Always fear the new manager syndrome. If this match was away, I would have been wary; we should do enough to win at home though.

Alan Smith should get a standing ovation if he starts.. Anything less than 3 points should be a disappointment for us..
I think we should gamble a bit in this game. Instead of the proven tevez - rooney. Lets start off with Saha - Rooney. I think Newcastle arent that great at the back and will provide good space for saha to operate.
Saha needs a lot of playing minutes to get his confidence back and this kind of a managerless game is something he could benefit from.

Tevez and Rooney upfront. Rooney loves playing at Newcastle, and Ronaldo's last couple of games against them have been great performances. Go full strength.

Who is the interim manager for the Barcodes?
I hope there is no new manager syndrome for them this time. Their defense is quite weak and i don't think they can handle Tevez and Rooney's movement.

With Giuggs coming in in the latter stages regardless of score.

I think Nigel Pearson is managing for the game.
We have to unleash everyone. We've had a nice relaxing week, Rooney showed class against Villa and let's keep him going. Play Hargreaves and Carrick, I think. Anderson could use a bit of a break, even though he was rested a few games ago. He is still only 19.
At RB, since Brown is out, I'd give Simpson the start. I know he wasn't that sharp against Everton, but the lad still needs a game here and there. Let him start, with O'Shea waiting to take over if necessary. Gaz could make a late appearance after coming through the reserve game ok.
Standing O for Alan Smith as well.
3-0 to us.

Hmm, Simpson vs. Duff/Milner? Why not, good experience for him. As long as Rio is beside him.

That was actually my only worry - I wrote that in the Injuries/Suspension/etc, that I was worried about Milner. Good call on Duff, I'd forgotten that he'd come back.
I'd have no problem with an early substitution - I know Fergie doesn't do it much, but f**k it. Start Simpson and let him go through the fire, if he can handle it, great, if not, throw O'shea in the mix.

no way we should start saha over tevez or carrick over anderson. play the first 11 and make sure we pick up points. the last thing we want to do is drop points right now b/c this could be our best oppurtunity to pick up points on arsenal as they have a few players away for the anc.

Man, i've done the same tatics as you, the exact one, but with Giggs where is Ronaldo and Ronaldo where Park is. If Neville was ready, Brown would be out for him.

I just think we would be doing well by continuing to get Park minutes as we come up to the run in, as well as preserving Giggsy by bringing him on as a sub.

Change Park for Nani and that's the team that I would pick too.

Have you watched him play here? He's far to erratic and a mixed bag. It's difficult to give him playing time when even he confuses his own teammates most of the time. Out of any youngster we've had over the past ten years, he's got a lot of potential but he's also the player you can tell has the longest to go. There's a lot of molding to do there. Having said that, I think he's had enough games, (exceeding the number of games even) for the player he is. Park needs more games. I'd choose him over Nani any time.
