Greetings everyone!
While I don't post very much, I'm an avid reader of all of our various Gooners threads and I could use your help. Im working on my graduate degree and in one of my classes I need to cite a non-scientific internet polling sample. This crowd always has opinions so here it goes:
Which US Presidential Contender do you support and why? (Bonus points for relating your choice to the Gooners!)
My Spuds Story: So late last night I ordered a pizza and I opened the door in my Arsenal hoodie. I handed the guy my cash when he looked up at me and asked if I really was an Arsenal fan. I said yes and he let me know that he just moved to the states from London and was a Shite Hart Lane season ticket holder. There was a l-o-n-g moment of silence until I finally told him I need my money back. Without a word he gave me back my money and walked away. Getting a free piza: $20. Watching the dejected face of a Spurs fan realize that Arsenal orders the pies and Spurs delivers them: priceless!!!!!

Its obvious who I am supporting...
I am voting for Ron Paul because I'm a fiscal conservative and social liberal...in other words a Libertarian. I don't like the government getting involved in nearly anything and I feel they only cause problems abroad as well. Ron Paul is the only candidate who I think can bring some respectability back to the United States.

No offense to you, but I despise Ron Paul.
I'm on the liberal end of moderate, but have always like McCain; I like him less nowadays because he toes the party line a bit more than he used to, but I still support him. Oh, BTW, I'm not voting for ANY of these candidates, because I'm writing in Stephen Colbert. McCain is the only candidate I don't actually hate with every fiber of my being, but I still don't want to vote for him.

Thats cute. Stephen Colbert...
Well a lot of people don't like Ron Paul because he asks people to be responsible for themselves and not use the government as a crutch...Its a tough concept to try to sell these days when you have people asking for the government to do everything under the sun for them.

Yeah, that's all that Ron Paul stands for.

I don't have a vote but I can tell you that half the OT crew would vote for anyone who restored diplomatic relations with Cuba and allowed Cuban imports.

Forget the diplomatic relations, just lifting the ban on imports would be enough for me.

I'm going to assume that while Sp*rs tickets might not be as expensive as Arsenal tickets they're still Premiership tickets and a season ticket has got to cost a pretty pound or two. So, if you can afford season tickets to a Premiership side (and obviously hold down a job that would allow you to afford those tickets) what on earth would possess you to move to the midwestern US to become pizza delivery boy? Something tells me that this guy is a fugitive from justice.

I'm a independent moderate (grew up in a Republican household),
but not in love with anyone from the Repubs or Dems.
Obama inspires me, but he seems very vague and inexperienced.
I will NOT vote for Hillary. I'm not anti-woman, just don't trust her
as far as I can throw her. I guess out of the Repubs I could stand
McCain (his age worries me), Ron Paul on most issues NOT all and
Huckabee, but him being a Evagelical Minister concerns me a tad.
I liked Richardson, down-to-Earth, moderate with loads of varied
experience. My wife was very upset he dropped out.
These are my positions:
-pro-life
-pro-gun owner rights (grew up with the NRA)
-pro death penalty
-pro environment
-US Army veteran
-against the Iraq war, but completely anti-war.
-want term limits
-want Congressional balanced budget amendment.
-keep careful eye on Govt and Corporations...both need
to have their power reigned in.

I'm voting for Cesc Fabregas - :p
No idea yet - I don't even know when we vote in Kansas.
Right now I would probably vote for McCain but that could change - he's pretty darn old - probably couldn't make 2 terms - so I'll be back in a couple weeks with my decision - Is Bob Dole running? :D

I will support Edwards until he's knocked out.
Then I will support Obama until he's knocked out.
Then I'll begrudgingly go waste my vote on Clinton.
Then the (R) will win.
Sigh...

I'm amazed at how close we are on a lot of this. Other than the USA vet and I am totally AGAINST term limits (I see it as the government telling me who I can't vote for) we are pretty close.
Huckabee I can't vote for, and SamLakey nailed the reason why.

Why? I didn't mention tons of other issues. I find very few people that are BOTH pro-life and pro-gun-owner rights. In addition, our assessment of the candidates is extremely similar.
