Ok so it was (clears throat) b o l t o n w a n d e r e r s (eeugh I feel dirty now), but anyway, what Simong Grayson called our "World XI" which included six foreign triallists lost 6-1 to the Horwich lot this afternoon at their training ground in Chorley. Not that the result matters too much as the Blackpool team was made up of players who for the most part had never even met before today!

The six triallists being -

Éric Akoto: Togo international defender who has been playing in Slovenia. Played in the 2006 World Cup. 27 years old.

Andrejs Butriks: Latvian striker who plays for FK Ventspils (which is where we got Kaspars Gorkšs from and who played against the 'Pool in the pre-season tour of Latvia so presumably impressed back then) 25 years old.

Andrejs Štolcers: 33 year old Lativan international striker, currently at Olimps Riga. Seems to be after one final pay day at 33 though.

Cédric Roussel: 30 year old Belgian international who has played all over the place including two clubs in England and played for Coventry in the Premiership. Currently at R.A.E.C. Mons in Belgium.

Nicolas Marin: French midfielder at FC L'Orient (who also play in tangerine shirts)

Borut Semler: Slovenian international striker, 22 years old.

No idea who else played or any other information about the players. I suppose if they find just one new player out of it then it will have been worth it.

Communication on the field might have been a little difficult!;)

According to the Blackpool Gazette, "expect very few, if any of them to stay"!!! Well what a waste of time and money that was!!

Blackpool have confirmed that none of the triallists were retained.

Seems Larry will still continue to look at triallists saying, "We're prepared to look at them all the time and just see where we get with one or two in the future."
