Hmm ...isn't it too early to slot our newbie? Maybe at Anfield and against Luton? Middlesbrough always raises its game when playing against the top teams. Other than that I'd not quibble with LB's team.

Itandje
Arbeloa

Lucas
Crouch
I would hold off on Skrtel until the replay with Luton. Arbeloa and Babel are good off the bench because they can play 3 positions. If we get a 2 goal lead we can sub off Torres, Alonso/Masch, and one of the defenders.
I am going to say 3-1, with Torres bagging a brace.

Hyypia is coming off a bad ankle. he looked pretty ragged against Luton.
Boro is stretched up front. they have Mido coming off injury, but he might not be fit. Tuncay, Lee Dong-Gook, a kid named Craddock, Aliadiere, and Ben Hutchinson are their strike force. if Mido isn't playing, Skrtel shouldn't have a lot of trouble with what Boro might throw at Liverpool.

On second thought, the starting S in his name is probably palatalised.

Even though Crouch is our second best striker at the moment, I still don't see Rafa playing him with Torres. They would just not work together and Crouch would get in Torres's way. It'll most likely be Kuyt who gets the start as well as Arbs next to Carra.

Yep, if Hyypia is out then Arbs starts in the center with Carra. Finnan will play on the right and Riise on the left.

Thats my lineup too (although not sure about Skrtel). If Sami or Agger are fit they will play. These are our best eleven players, and they need to learn how to play together. Babel and Yossi are both capable of changing the game as substitutes.

I don't buy it. They haven't even played together enough for anyone to make a judgment about their partnership. We know that Rafa likes to use Kuyt and Voronin because they fill the space between the midfield and the lead striker. However, when Gerrard plays on the "right" he occupies that same space. I really want to see how the attacking trio of Crouch, Torres, and Gerrard works.

CCSC's lineup looks good to me.
Gerrard and Finnan on the right should nullify whatever threat Downing will bring, if any.
Not many dangers on Boro at the mo, not that that stands for anything.
Wonder how much a draw will pay at the TAB?

We know that Aurelio is out most likely until the Villa game and that Arbs might be a doubt, although i think that his and Gerrard's injuries were just so that they could rest without the media talking about his dreadful 'rotation policy'.
Agger and Hyypia will probably not play.
Rafa is probably going to stick with Riise so he doesnt completely drain his confidence by dropping him.

I like this team, unless Arbeloa is fit then I would drop Riise. Same goes for Skrtel if Hypia is fit, but I'd still stick him on the bench. There's no point messing about getting him use to the English game.

Rafa has said that Stevie G and Arbs could be available for the Boro game. Aurelio is probably another week away. Agger is due to play a reserve match on Thursday. This means he is close to a return. He might miss the Boro match but may be available for the Luton match.

Hyypiä is a doddle. Škrtel-- how do you pronounce that. Hardly any vowels, there!
