we have back to back games vs West Ham at home. I remember 2 years ago they stopped us from going to the FA Cup finals and Sun Jihai got suspended in that game as well. This is revenge for us. I think we'll do well.

Don't even think about winning in our house. You got lucky 2 years ago, it won't happen again.

Micah is out with a slight knee injury. Mpenza and Sturridge are available for the squad pick. :D Hope the team get to the ground on time - road problems and weather warnings could cause delays.

well, on paper, we should win. However, I remember losing to the likes of Oldham 3 years ago and also to another non-premiership team 2 years ago, I can't remember which team. Either case, the beauty of cup competitions is that you never know what could happen. Fairly often, the unexpected happens.
we should win though. maybe 1-0?

A really poor, dismal and dour performance. All credit to the Blades for their spirited game plan, the better team won.
The defending was just dysmal.
Kudos to Sturridge. Is just the kind of player we need right now to step up, very impressive performance and skillfull goal.
Sheffield United were the better team so kudos to them, but i still feel extremely let down.

what's more pathetic was that you lost to them at Old Traford, in front of 74,055 of your own

I can't believe Hart or someone else didn't call the ref to clear the balloons. Those damn things cost us the game.
Hart himself could have cleared them, at least those in the box.
Just mind-boggling to me how we lost this game.
Sturridge is the only bright point. Great potential this kid.
Petrov and Elano disappointing once again.

Sorry but the balloons were a nice touch,
They did seem to change the roll of the ball so i dont even blame Ball that much.
At least Sven aint using that as an excuse :-)

Blame Hart or the back 4 or Sven for not getting the ref's attention to clear the balloons.
They should be smarter than that.

Quote from SGE on mcfc.co.uk:
"United's first goal came about when a low cross wrong-footed Michael Ball after it hit some balloons that had been blown onto the pitch and not been cleared, and of the incident Sven added,
"It's quite obvious that the ball changed direction before Michael tries to clear it. We asked the fourth official about them twice, he said the referee was aware of it, and at half time I heard that he had asked Joe Hart to clear them when the play was away from him.
"That's a little bit strange, I don't think that is a job for him. Stopping the game would have taken a minute or so, but there's always something new in football.""
