If Robbo doesn't start then there is a chance.

Yeah, I get that sick feeling in my stomach whenever the ball comes near Robbo these days.
I like that we are at home for the 2nd leg. Blackburn, not in the greatest of form, ran them close last round. We have a better chance than last year - depending on who Wenger picks/brings on.
I say 1-1 at Dubai-bury and we take care of business in the 2nd leg.

We might have a shot if we don't foul them the whole game. Any type of set piece, be it a throw in, goal kick, or the ball boy throwing one out, and we're in trouble.

No Huddelstone and no Zokora. Could be worse i suppose.
If we don't win against their kids this time then it won't be too much of a surprise. i hate to say it but the arse have an amazing system of playing and all their youngsters are top top quality and know how to play in that system. i don't think we even have a system, even with a director of football supposedly ensuring continuity and stability etc
Perhaps we should just put out our U18 side and see how they get on?

Enthusiasm? Is that anything like fear, loathing or dread. Because then I have it in spades.

I can't quite get excited about the possibility of either playing out of our minds and getting ot the Carling Cup final, or seeing the team that gives up goals in bunches and has to go back to The Lane nursing yet another defeat to the Arse.
Add to that the fact that our attentions have been diverted due to to the transfer window drama and the 87 games we've played in the last two weeks, and it's hard to figure out which way is up.
As you can tell, I'm not in an overly positive mood right now...

don't listen to those guys, nick. besides, i've got enough enthusiasm for the lot of 'em. we're going to play your boys off the pitch tomorrow.
i won't be able to make it up to the globe, as i've got to work in the morning; but you and your mates be sure to think of me between your sighs and moans.* ;)
*in the first half. you needn't give me a thought as we're hanging on for dear life in last twenty minutes.

That's because they have dedicated so much time and so many resources to poaching other club's young talent--of course, with the whole Fran affair, they now have to worry about legal action from clubs who might want to hang on to the talent they have invested in. As for our system, does Comolli assure anything of anyone? Is Comolli in any way assuring? What can Comolli possibly assure?
As for the match, w/o Hudds and Zorks we are going to be a bit thin--but what else is new? I'm looking for Keano and Berbs up front, and perhaps Jenas and O'Hara in the center? Wonder if Leds will be up to making a start, if so perhaps Dawson will be comptent--but I would almost rather see Leds and Kaboul with Chimo on the right and the super-secret-mystery-man-who-is-going-to-destroy-the-Scum-with-all-his-mysterious-awesomeness on the left.
Spurs to win from some Berbs magic, 1-0. Though I'd settle for a draw and a chance to get it done at the Lane. We are Tottenham Super Tottenham Super--Shsh! No singing at the New Library!

well that's one of you ;)
And as far as the Library is concerned, the real one that I experienced was Anfield. Crap atmosphere.

Here's my prediction......the final result of this match will be close enough to give us hope going into the return leg, where that hope will be dashed in the most excruciating way possible. There would be little point to being a Spurs supporter if Arsenal just kicked the shit out of us and let us get on with our lives.

Kickoff is at 2:45 pm EST.
If you have Real Player, you should be able to listen through BBC London (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/london.shtml), unless it's blocked for some rwason. It wasn't blocked for the Man City match, although the FA Cup matches were blocked.

We go back to The Lane down 2-1.
After a hard-fought 90 minutes, we're tied on aggregate at 3-3 - coming back from 1-0 down to "win" the second leg 2-1.
In the ensuing extra time, we go up 3-1 on a 117th minute wonder goal by Berbatov, which sends The Lane into rapture. Then, Keane gives up a goal kick while trying to keep the ball in the corner in the 119th minute. The ensuing goal kick is taken in the 120th minute. The goal kick is flicked on and, with time about to run out, Chimbonda is called for going over Bendtner's back 30 yards from goal. On the ensuing free kick - the last possible attack of the game - Chimbonda loses Bendtner, who powers in a free header from 8 yards out to make it 3-2 Spurs.
The Arse goes through to the final on away goals after a 4-4 aggregate score.
Just typing that out, and then thinking about the very likelihood of that happening, makes me want to put my fist through my monitor.
