Anyone checked this out yet?
Did the Discovery Channel decide to put this out to hop on the bandwagon of Human Weapon?
They're profiling Kali and Kung Fu tomorrow. I'll check them out over the weekend and see if they stack up to Human Weapon.

I saw the kung fu episode. It was ok. From what I can tell having never seen Human Weapon they are the same thing. Am I correct?

Not quite the same - Human Weapon always throws in the historical aspect of the martial art they're profiling that week. Plus Human Weapon also examines 3-4 specific techniques in depth on every episode, which is not done on Fight Quest.
Now, I do like the hosts and did get behind them in their fights. And I'll watch this until there are new Human Weapon episodes. But this is a pretty shameless copy of Human Weapon.

No kidding! I'm not watching it just based on principle. I'll keep DVRing Human Weapon until new ones come on.

I saw both the Kali and Hapkido episodes. They're really not bad at all. The guys are quite likeable and they do take some serious hits. And Bison's right -- you do end up rooting for them.
I think I've seen two eps of Human Weapon. And it was pretty good, but the show seems uptight to me for some reason. I think I like Fight Quest better.

I haven't made up my mind between the two yet. I think the HW guys were moderately more skillful. My annoyance with both shows is that I wish they gave the hosts two or three weeks to actually learn some things. It seems that they just get f'ed up early in every episode and then don't have much left to build technique or fight competently at the end. I think it will be interesting to see how they develop as fighters in their own right if they can make it multiple seasons.

Did anyone else think the chick instructor in the Krav Maga episode was dangerously sexy?

That's a good way to put it. Very pretty face, and very much an ass-kicker.
