I'd actually start Leto and Nemeth. And Alonso, too.

I was hoping to get a goal up or so before playing the kiddies:D

Way we've playing, it will be in the 85th minute before we score  I see the point but I think Crouch and Nemeth wouldn't be too bad a front-pairing. I'd like to see what we've got in the basement, as they say.

I agree, we need to give perhaps Torres and Stevie G MBE a rest, but stick with the rest of the spine of the team so that we can prove to any more doubters that we are not going to lose (I say lose, because that's what the Wigan game felt like) another game to a lesser side. And you can't forget the fact that a couple of years back, Luton gave us a damn good game, they were well up for the challenge and I think it'll be the same again. For us to go out of the FA Cup at this time would be very detrimental to Players, Fans, and Rafa alike. God knows the bloody ragpapers would be all over us faster than a crackwhore on meth. We do also need to give the younguns a chance as well, but with a fairly inexperienced side, can we go into a game to a side in a lower league saying that we'll definately win it? I think not, at this time I think I'd hedge my bets boys.

Let's not forget that the FA Cup is nothing to be sniffed at, we need to go out there and show teams that we can get into our rhythm again and bang a few (at least) past them.

Rafa's (IMHO) best side for this game -
Itzandje
Finnan —-- Carra —--- Agger —-- Riise
Pennant —- Alonso —-- Lucas —-- Leto
Crouch — Voronin

If Agger aint fit (yet i think this would be a great game to reintroduce him) stick Arbs in there.

Subs - Martin, Arbs, Kewell, Babel, El Zhar

I'd be interested in seeing Crouch and Babel start up front. I think they'd compliment each other quite well. Moreso than any other combination.

More and more I'm thinking Crouch should be playing for teams like ......well, Luton.

Hope it's a good old fashioned Cup match. Small team on their own sod (No Dis. intended) against a biggie . Playing well over their heads and throwing everything, including that big Stainless steel sink at us.

But order in the universe prevails as the big team scores.

Last time we played at Luton was fun. Down 3-1, and came back to win 5-3. Pongolle made a big difference. Xabi scored from beyond midfield. The Liverpool support sang "3-1 and you ********ed it up..." Hopefully its a more straight forward win this time around.

Thought this might be a good encounter for Harry to re-establish his ^%*$!$%. Otherwise, Liverbird put out a fun side.

Is it safe to post here? :D

I agree with this post 100%

Well, maybe not all of them....

I'd definately like to see Nemeth, don't think he'll get a run though.

Only reserves i'd like to play are Hobbs, Leto and maybe El Zhar..oh and Charles.

Carra, Stevie and Torres definitely need a rest...especially Carra who has had played more EPL games then any other player as well as playing all our CL games and most of our cup games. Torres probably needs to recover from being kicked, hacked and to put it lightly "body checked". Stevie obviously is someone who wants to play every game but this is the perfect opportunity to rest...5 weeks before the Inter game and gives him a week to prepare for next EPL game. Also Masch will probably need a rest from playing lots of minutes while Xabi has been injured and Momo has been out of form.

__________Itandje__________

Arbs___Hobbs___Agger___Riise

Yossi___Momo___Xabi____Leto

______Voronin__Crouch______

Bench: Martin, Finnan, Lucas, Pennant, Babel

I reckon i can get 9/11 selections right for this game...come on Rafa :D

Finnan/Hobbs/Carra/Riise on Sunday?

Steven Gerrard, Alvaro Arbeloa and Fabio Aurelio have all been ruled out of Sunday's FA Cup third round clash at Luton Town. . .

Manager Rafael Benitez confirmed: "Steven and Alvaro have a calf problem and Fabio has a hamstring injury.

"They are all out of this weekend's game and will work with the physios to be ready for Middlesbrough next Saturday."

Tough to say who gets to play here. One more man overboard and alonso's gonna be a cb after all. sheesh.

I think charles gets the cup games. the defenders are whose left, poor cara can buy a rest. crouch and veronin are up for rotation although thats what i said v wigan also. leaving midfield. say lucas and momo need a run out. kewell or leto and jermaine or yossi.

crouchie better tear em a new one becouse where that lots gonna score from i dont know. maybe he'll play kuyt crouch and veronin.

a big win would be nice, get the confidence back. we have the opponents to put a streak together although so far its not on as im sure we've all noticed. ah well.
