Assuming they do the gamble a second time, they also have to take account for this scenarion in their plannings for next season, this will further complicate this scenario of taking back CA even more. If they do take him back they have limited resources for an alternative strategy (i.e. a replacement for CA that is sined when CA comes back), because they don't get a modest transfer for CA, which would refund the initial transfer a bit, and because they have to pay him salary again, which could be spent anywhere else if CA does not come back. Taking him back is also a matter of integrating a unknown player which is not necessarily easy stuff. In the case they don't take him back, Bremens room for maneuver will be better, because the get refunding (at least a bit) and have more salary options, therefore they can get a better and safer (i.e. in terms of succeeding at Bremen) CA replacement

I'm very sure they'd "gamble" a 2nd time if during his time back home CA doesn't give them reason to sell him.
History shows that if Bremen have a player who they feel is the right guy (4 the right prize) they will sign him regardless of the status of another player.

A replacement would only be necessary for a player who has proven himself in the team. CA hasn't done so and thus Bremen wouldn't need a replacement for him. He would just be the icing on the cake. The (midfield) cake itself consists of Diego, Frings and Jensen.

Exactly. They wouldn't need to "replace" him. It would just be an expensive lesson.

Everyone gets those.

Good news from Sao Paulo, CA passed the medical there.

Weird, if you consider the problems CA had in Bremen,
but maybe the environment in Brasil suits him better
(comparable to the Nery story).

------------------------------------------------------------------
FC Fulham is interested in signing Leon Andreassen.
According to newspaper Werder will listen, if Fulham
make a good offer (> 4 million €). Allofs didn´t comment it.

Comparable, but every story is different. Let's see how it comes out.

What's this about you guys being on the verge of selling Andreasen to Fulham???

Currently it´s just rumours, Andreassen, his manager and Werder
didn´t give an comment, but in the past Andreassen often asked to leave Bremen.
Clubs like Schalke and Hannover made offers, but the deal failed,
because of the transfer fee offer or the injury situation.

Here are articles about the Fulham interest:

The end of that article is funny. Who's Bradley? I mean there are at least a dozen midfielders who are rumoured to join Werder. But that guy is new to me.

Well, Schweinsteiger has been linked with Bremen recently. But Allofs said that the opportunity of transferring him to Bremen will possibly be taken in summer.

Bayern has, as always, extremly unrealistic ideas of transfer fees. If we could get Podolski and Schweinsteiger together for 15 or at the most 20 million Euros I would immidiately buy them.

*exits wishful thinking

The end of that article is funny. Who's Bradley? I mean there are at least a dozen midfielders who are rumoured to join Werder. But that guy is new to me.

Micheal Bradley is a 20 year-old American kid who has been having a monster campaign for Heerenveen this year. He's currently regarded as one of the better midfielders in the Eredivisie, and is a massive prospect in general. He's also become a bit of a fixture on the US national roster in the last year (played relatively solidly both in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the U-20 World Cup right after). He was initially playing more of a defensive midfield role, but has taken on a much more attacking role this season for Heerenveen (so far with 8 league goals and a couple in UEFA Cup). So I guess you could consider him a bit of a 2-way midfielder?

His main weakness is that he's had a tendency towards the occasional lapses of recklessness which have led to a couple unnecessary red cards, but that's something which will definitely get better (and indeed has gotten better, AFAIK) as he evolves out of the purely defensive role. He's also cup-tied due to playing in Heerenveen's first-round exit in the UEFA Cup so he's only good for league play if he does transfer anywhere during this winter. Heerenveen has also sold one of their star players (Alfonso Alves) in this tranfer period, so I don't know if they would be so willing to get rid of their other main guy mid-season.

He catches a lot of sh!t from some US fans since his dad (Bob Bradley) happens to be the trainer for the US national team, and was also the trainer of the first team he played professionally with (New York Metro, now Red Bull New York), but the guy is the real deal. He's stated that he doesn't want to stay with Heerenveen after this season, so he'll definitely be available in the summer. Not sure if there is a chance of him being sold this winter. He's only 20, has developed by leaps & bounds in the last year, and is having a big year, so he might be a bit expensive, although the transfer prices for Americans usually seems to tend toward the lower side.

Personally speaking, I'd f&cking love to see Bradley in the Green & White....probably crap my pants if this happened. :p Admittedly there is a small bit of bias since our passports are the same color, but the guy is a huge prospect who has a great chance to develop into a top-quality (dare I say world-class? ;) ) midfielder. With Borowski gone next season, Diego probably gone sooner rather than later and Andreasen always seeming to look for a way out, plus Frings & Baumann not getting any younger and seeming to be having more injury problems lately, a guy like Bradley could definitely contribute regularly right away and become a fixture in Werder's evolving midfield for the next few years. Unfortunately, 95% of these random rumors end up being total bull, so I'm guessing there's probably nothing behind it.

Andreasen flieht
nach Fulham
... und Schaaf will keinen Neuen
Von Werder berichten MARKUS BALCZUWEIT und ALEXANDER HOLZAPFEL
Der nächste Star ist weg!

Innerhalb von fünf Tagen macht nach Tim Borowski (im Sommer zu Bayern), Carlos Alberto (Ausleihe an Sao Paulo) der dritte Mittelfeld-Spieler den Abflug. Dänen-Nationalspieler Leon Andreasen (24) wechselt ab sofort für 3,9 Mio Euro zu Fulham/England.

According to Bild the transfer is completed.

Congrats, you got 3,9 mio € for Andreasen.:D

Borowski/Jensen,Baumann and Vranjes are better backups than him.

No one else is reporting that deal done except "Bild." Klaus Allofs said on live TV yesterday that it is not done.

If "Bild" is the only one reporting it, I'd say it isn't true.

It looks like it may happen, but it hasn't happened yet according to any legitimate sources.

It looks extremely close to me.

"Werder Bremen defender Leon Andreasen is ready for a 'new challenge' as he closes on a move to Fulham."

"The Denmark international is discussing a £3million switch to Craven Cottage and is expected to sign a three-year contract."

"Allofs said: "The offer was attractive and Leon is not happy with us.""

I don't recall saying it wasn't close. As a matter of fact, I said:

"It looks like it may happen, but it hasn't happened yet according to any legitimate sources."

I expect it to get done, but it is not yet.

"Bild" is notorious for reporting what they THINK will happen and just hoping they get it right.

He will leave us and go to Fulham. So there is no point about discussing wheter he has already left or is about to leave.

It´s sad that we let another midfielder leave us, especially a rather gifted one like Andreasen. But overall he was not good enough to play in our first team, and with Baumann, Vranjes and Niemeyer we still have a few good back up players.

LOL!! Keep it coming! I need a good laugh today!

The point of my posts is this:

The transfer was reported as being done. The transfer is NOT DONE. It wasn't done then and it is not even done now.

So, how am I "criticizing everyone's posts" when I am merely pointing out a fact?

I wasn't even being "critical."

I never said anyone couldn't discuss something. But I also have to right to point out that what you are discussing is not factual at that point. Some read these forums and assume you guys are discussing facts.

Another thing.

Werder has Andreasen under contract until 2009. Daniel Jensen's contract expires after this season, and HE MAY BE THE ONE ALLOWED TO LEAVE NOW!!!

I seriously doubt Klaus Allofs will let both of them leave during this transfer period and at least they have Andreasen bound to the club for another season.

But I guess that opinion doesn't matter here, right??

I should get a life? I think you should learn what "critical" is and learn that your opinion isn't the only one that matters.

I know how to be "critical" and buddy, that wasn't it.

DI and I have just as much right to post our opinions here as you do.

If you don't like that, then tough shit my friend......

Maybe read the posts you are talking about better next time, before making claims who was dissed by me and footy, because infact we onyl dissed each other and more importantly if this thread would be so important to me that I give up my life for it, then I'd be here more f*cking often.
