We already have 4 left backs. It's just a newspaper rumour and I don't think it's worth anything.

You are absolutely right. In todays Weser Kurier Klaus Allofs said that Bremen has no interests in buying the Greek international.
Syker Kreiszeitung informs about a Bremen interest in JanRosental from Hannover 96.
Btw Womes contract´s running out and Boenisch has been injured for a long time. Tosics defensive abilities aren´t good enough, especially in CL games. Pasanen is more right back oder in the centre.
Left back is one of my main wishes for the next season.

Werder continues their interest in central defender Sebastian Prödl.
In summer Graz denied a 2 million € bid. A few days ago AC Florenz
joined the race and accordning to some articles they made a bid of 2 - 2.5 million €.
Some articles say Werder responsed with a 2.5 million € offer to get
the 20 years old in summer (newspapers say, he doesn´t want to change the club now,
but he wants to wait until the EC).

No one has thoughts on Tim Borowski moving to Bayern next season? Or am I posting this news in the wrong thread?
Kicker.de: Klinsmann holt Tim Borowski (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/374010/)
Sorry guys. But as soon as Bayern signed Klinsmann, I told the people on the BVB e-mail list that they were going to immediately go after Borowski.
And more and more people are telling me they believe Torsten Frings is the team cancer I said he was awhile ago..... :o

I say "good riddance" to Borowski. I know he's a Bremen youth product, but I honestly don't care about him. The last two years he has spent more time nursing injuries than he has playing for Werder Bremen. I just wish that Carlos Alberto would follow him to Bayern. Maybe then we can start to get some consistency in our midfield...

I think you're blaming the wrong guy for your "midfield problems...."
And while you guys are so quick to blast Carlos Alberto, remember the last Brazilian you guys bought who you immediately thought was a disaster and nearly got rid of him before he became a Bremen hero.......

Footyfan, I never said "midfield problems". I mentioned an inconsistency in the starting lineup. Jensen, Vranjes, and others have done an excellent job keeping Bremen near the top of the Bundesliga. But it's not good enough in tougher competitions, most notably the Champions League. You need consistency from your best players. Can you make a good argument that Borowski has been a consistent member of the starting lineup the last two years?
While I don't deny that I make these comments largely out of bitterness towards another defection to Bayern, I still maintain that Bremen will be able to replace Borowski.
Also, Bremen have just hired a personal assistant to monitor Carlos Alberto on a 24-hour-a-day basis. It's just laughable, especially when you consider his other problems, like fighting with Sanogo and not being able to sleep. If he turns around and becomes a contributor, I'll be the first one to compliment him. But up to this point he is a DISASTER. Respect is something you have to earn. If Bremen had Bayern's bank account, this would be no big deal. But they don't, and getting nothing in return from an 8 million euro investment is a huge disappointment.

I had an inkling CA was going to be a problem at Bremen. He is just type of a person, I have heard some crazy stories about him from Brazilian fans.
All this time I thought he was injured. I couldn't believe it when I read about him fighting with his own team mates.

No. He's been injured quite a bit. Can you make a good argument that he's the only one who's been injured more than once over the past two years??

Who said Bremen couldn't? You've got a ready-made replacement in Andreasen. However, it is just a bitch to lose a player like that who many feel you didn't need to lose.

Well, you guys got us for 5M on that useless f#cker Valdez. Maybe it's karma...... ;)

I still have some trust in Carlos Alberto. I believe he will show his tru skills during the Rückrunde, at the lastest next season, as long as we stick to him.
And Borowski will be replaced, that is not questionable. I wish Bremen could afford a transfer in Bayern dimensions. :)

That's my impression, too. Well, you can't keep any player when Uli is opening his bag of money...

Footyfan, he didn´t want to stay at Bremen and he had contact with
Bayern Munich since two years. Sure, it fits for the media, that Klinsmann
is presented and a few days later Borowski, but Borowski says,
that his decision was made in the last year.
And that fits, KA made last season some attempts to offer Borowski
a new contract (with very good conditions btw.), but he didn´t even give a reply.
He is 28 and he has the chance to make a big contract now and realised it.
At Bayern he earns more than twice the money than at Werder,
so i can´t blame him to take the chance althought i would have prefered
to see him move to another club.
Well, sad to see a good footballer leave for free, but maybe it´s also a chance for Werder.
Borowskis departure gives players like Andreassen, Jensen and Zidan the chance
for a starting place and i hope they can improve their level.

Anyway, I wasn't trying to be confrontational with anyone. I'm just letting out my frustrations with Borowski leaving for Bayern. And I believe he can be replaced!:)

Which Zidan are you talking about, Eisenfuß?

He must have confused Zidan with Alberto. Either way, they're both a bust so far :D

Didn't he get those injuries playing for Werder Bremen and Germany?
God. Some of you are amazing in how quickly you can turn on someone when they leave your little circle!

It seems to me your story is the one that is convenient. Not for the media, but for Werder fans.
If they've had contact for two years and it was known, why isn't Werder reporting Bayern to the DFL, UEFA and FIFA?
Sure, it's overlooked a lot, but that shit is still illegal.
I have good sources who say Bayern and Borowski have been talking for nearly a year (still illegal) and that it was "clinched" when Klinsmann signed.
According to them, he was still considering staying with Bremen or going to Atletico Madrid.

According to the people I know, there is another reason he didn't answer. Someone is making it hard for the others there. But we've discussed that before.
What about Allofs? Has he extended his contract yet??

In Zidan's case, I'm wondering if he's one of those players who can only perform in one place?
Sort of like Ailton. He can't perform anywhere except Bremen.

Allofs contract has not been extended yet.
A guy at school came up with the following theory:
Allofs lets all our good players go to Bayern and will leave Bremen in the end, to join which club...? :-)

He seems to fit a smaller BL club very well where he is the man in the offense. That way there's no tough competition and his ego can be pleased. Maybe he should just return to Mainz next season and play in their system where he's comfortable. Assuming they will get promotion and Zidan is willing to take a pay cut.
He couldn't cut it in Bremen and now it's HSV turn to regret buying him. Mentally I don't believe he will ever be ready for a bigger club. He's very weak and fragile in that area and I'm having a hard time seeing any improvement from him. Considering he'll be 27 later this year, and still having this problem he will most likely not improve much mentally as a football player.
He needs pappa Klopp next to him, just like he had Erik Rasmussen back when he played in FC Midtjylland (Denmark) Stevens is not exactly that type of coach and the same with Schaaf. They're not going to hold his hand and ask him how his day was :D
