January window is now open. Will the club remain resolute and rely (suicidally) on Saha to back up Tevez and Rooney, with Manucho as the anchor? Or will we see sense and purchase ourselves and proven player to lessen the workload on the two forwards we possess who give their all every game plus the other one who just wants to get through the games he plays uninjured?

Biased? Well, hell yes I am.

Pick your poison.

Agbonlahor omitted purposely.

Looking at our side, I feel it paramount we add some composure and know-how to the frontline. I'd like him here, but he isn't what this team needs now. I've lost all faith in Saha and he was supposed to be the 'know-how' guy at 29yrs of age, so now he's not one to depend on and we've gone and got Manucho, I feel we need an older player. Benezema added due to him allegedly being in that 'soon to be a truly elite class' which I don't think Ag' will ever be in.

Such a tough question. Anelka would be perfect, but there's no doubt that Bebatov would be immense in this team if he got himself sorted.. I'll have to go with Anelka for now.

Still believes Anelka is the perfect fit. However, I doubt we will get him. I thought he would be here already if Fergie really wanted him. Maybe the disappointment that is Louis Saha will finally force Fergie to pull the trigger on Anelka ?

My head says Anelka but my heart/bias says Berbatov. I just love that big guy.

I picked Berbatov, but it is with a caveat.

I think Anelka would be more ideal for right now, but he is going to be 29 in 2 months. Berba is going to be 27.

I would rather have Agbonlahor or Benzema for the future, but they are likely not ready now.

Berbatov is somewhat of a compromise, but if we can buy Anelka now and Agbonlahor or Benzema later I would probably rather do that. But I would be happy with any striker.

I don't anticipate us getting a striker this winter, and even if we do, it won't be Berbatov or Anelka who would have £25m price tags on them if not more. Anelka is already negotiating with Chelsea, according to reports, no way in hell we are outbidding them.
Realistically, we could make a run at someone like Kerzhakov, who won't be very expensive and I think would fit the team nicely, but even that is very questionable. With return and a good play from Park, I think SAF is thinking of using Ronaldo more as a forward giving breaks to Tevez and Rooney with Manucho being the fifth choice up front.

I'm not happy with this Manucho guy. He's a nobody. He's come from an average league with a half decent record. It stinks. He better be a bloody genius otherwise I'll lose it.

As for strikers, I think Aenlka is the best fit. In terms of ability and assets he has the lot. Berbatov is a good player but more of a link up player and we have enough of them as it is. Anelka is a front runner who causes head aches and he's physically up to the job. A moaner of the highest callibre but he's still a great player. We'd be his last chance at stardom so I think we'd get the best out of him.

Agbonlahor isa decent player but I'd want to see him stay at Villa for a few more years. He ha sa god thing there. He needs to move when the time is right and make sure he doesn't go crap like Vassell did.

I think we could see Ronaldo pushed up further though, in similar fashion to what Arsenal did with Henry. Ronaldo certaily has en eye for goal and could be a revelation up there.....

This is a toughie. On one hand you have Anelka with his great pace and clinical finishing but then there's Berbatov who offers us that option in the air as well as his really superb technical ability and good finishing. Berbatov for me.

As much as I've been praising Benzema, like others have stated we need something for the now. Bezema is talented, but I doubt he can hit the ground running for us.

Its obviously going to be a battle between Anelka and Berbatov, and we've seen this debate before. My preference would be Anelka for his pace. He would stretch the field for our midfielders, much like Saha did for Oshea and Giggs the year, Rio sunk the scousers. It would only help us when we have Hargreaves, Fletcher and Carrick on the pitch. He definately doesnt come as deep as Berbatov does, as much as he does so thats a bonus for whoever his partner is.

If you consider Bolton's style of play, Anelka has done well in that set up, but I feel that he would do better in our set up. With the ball played on the ground more often, as well as through the channels which he likes to run. He'd stay up there and wouldnt drop deep, and clog up the middle.

Its definately Anelka to me. If we do get him, I think by the time Lyon are going to consider offers for Benzema, Anelka would have already served his purpose.

I went for other as I have not hidden my admiration for Huntelaar. Somewhat in the Ruud mould he has an extra bit more pace and is just as clinical. Team isnt playing in Europe. He is the sort of striker IMO we need for bunker defenses as we seem to spurn alot of goalscoring opportunities.

I picked Benzema. I feel he has the ability right now to be a top class striker, and will only get better. The only problem with him is the extremely high transfer value and the fact that he can't play in the CPL.

If i had to pick another i would say Huntelaar, even though he is not on the list. I see him has a tall, strong striker, with exception finishing. He obv reminds me of Ruud and i feel Huntelaar would not mind sitting on the bench and coming on later in matches. I feel every other player will want to be a starter, and sometimes playing 4 strikers doesn't work to well, even tho rooney and tevez track back often

benzema and berbatov are the two best choice..these 2 are on different level...anelka taking age into consideration comes 2nd...but anelka would be our more realistic target considering transfer fees and such

I voted for Anelka, but I have a feeling we won't be buying anyone this transfer window.

It's a toughie.

If we can get Berbatov for 15m then we should bring him in. Otherwise we should snap up Anelka before anyone else does.

I voted for Anelka because I think he could be had for the most reasonable deal. But in reality any one of Anelka, Berbs or Benzema would be excellent choices. I don't see us shelling out 25million pounds for Berbs. And I don't really see a sign and swap deal going down over the winter period either for Berbs. Benzema would be nice but we have had much luck acquiring players from Lyon and def don't think they are letting him go in the break.

Why isn't Dong a option ? :D

It's the obvious choice, we are just trying to decide whether Berbatov or Anelka ought to be behind Dong on the bench :D

To be fair, David Villa could be an option. He's a top class player and he wants out of Valencia, but i'm not sure if he can cut it in the prem
