Steve Coppell and Kevin Dillon have been planning a gradual but complete squad overhaul over the last couple of months. The changes are set to be made over the next 1.5 years, spread over 4 transfer windows to allow players to bed in and allow the squad to gel. The current Reading squad has been mainly unchanged for the past 4 years and Coppell, along with Kevin Dillon and chief scout Brian McDermott feel that the team is starting to become stale. This is what they are currently hoping the majority of the squad will look something like by august 2009:
GK...............................RB........................LB
Federico Agliardi...........Nicky Hunt...............Nicky Shorey
Kasper Schmeichel.........Shaleum Logan........George Elokobi
CB...............................RW......................CM
Ibrahima Sonko..............James Henry..........James Harper
Andre Bikey...................Michael Kightly.......Danny Guthrie
Gary Cahill...............................................Lee Cattermole
Alex Pearce.............................................Kalifa Cisse
LW...............................FWD
Stephen Hunt................Dave Kitson
Bobby Convey...............Kevin Doyle

Why have they been playing Hunt on the right? Is that just to get both Hunt and Convey out there?

If this is true to any degree, it would be a pretty quick admission that both fae and rosenoir are taking a while to bed in, but complete busts.
Seems a bit quick for that admission.

nearly as quick as they decided halford was a complete bust...?

that would for three of the five most expensive signing in reading history being busts (if the valule of seol + pds 1.5m is correct). I guess, if true, and they can pull a halford, and get value plus back, it would be a good move. IMO, Fae is a player but has to add some defensive bite. I think next year, he'll be a major part of the team. Rosenoir (or at least someone) should be replacing murty any day now. He's just too slow this year.
