Hi CB, glad you're back with us and hope the studying is going well.
We need the three points. Blackburn being Manchester rivals, it's a derby match, so both teams will be wanting the win.
Come on City

Man City:
Hart,
Onuoha, Dunne, Richards, Ball
Ireland, Corluka, Gelson, Petrov,
Bianchi, Vassell.
Subs: Isaksson, Geovanni, Elano, Hamann, Garrido.
We've gone for a very different team, im surprised with his selection. More inexperienced but more energetic and strong to try and stop Blackburn from kicking us off the park like the last time we played em. Hope Sven's made the right moves

Well, I'm going to click my way home... It's weird being in a different forum. I posted the line-ups in the Rovers forum.

I see you back on the Pederson bandwagon with me.
He had a brilliant last game just unlucky.

I thought they'd all eaten too much Christmas Pudding! What a dire start to a match.
City need to practice passing to a man in blue, same old story. Two, three passes then the opposition have it.
Bianchi missed an open goal, a great pass from Petrov and he can't get a toe on it.
Another Petrov penetrating run and a fab pass across the goal for Darius to head in.
Before two minutes is up, Santa Cruz with an equaliser - who was marking him?
Before two minutes is up, Petrov is flying up the wing again, crosses the ball in and before Bianchi could get to it, Nelson scored an o.g.
Petrov needs an oxygen mask, his runs are lightening. He had some good link-up play with Superman Stevie but we miss Hamann - lots of balls from the midfield are being passed back to Hart, who then kicks the ball out and, like a boomerang, it comes straight back into our third!
It'll be a tense 2nd half unless we get a quick goal (or two). :)

A great ball by Bianchi to Petrov that set up the goal by Vassel. We look solid right now.

I'm freakin pissed. Keep up performances like this and we can kiss UEFA Cup goodbye. This was suppose to be a win for us but instead, we only get 1 point. Rovers stole a point from us. I hate Blackburn, but I am also mad at City for performing like this at home.
Forget about Sunday, it's a gauranteed loss at home vs Liverpool. I believe after Liverpool, there's 3 straight away game for us, and we will drop at least 2 of them. The season is turning into a disaster.

Maybe SGE was 'trying out' this formation at home in the belief that we could win? At half-time, it was clear to me that we needed Hamann on the pitch and either Elano (my 1st choice) or Geo for Bianchi. I really think that Hamann should've been a key player to pick for this match, so surprised he wasn't in the starting line-up. Time and again, the ball was 'given-away' through sloppy passing, thus putting us under pressure all too quickly (this is a comment that appears on nearly all my postings!). Our defensive play was not as it was at the start of the season, what's happened?
MOTM, without a doubt, Petrov - where would we be without him? He was the goal maker for our two goals and was lightening quick up and down the left touch-line and Superman Stevie had some excellent link-up play with him.
Two points and our home record lost. Some great sparks of play, but on the whole, not the performance we've come to expect. There's no reason why SGE's starting line-up couldn't have scored at least one more goal and stopped their attacks. Next up - Liverpool.
Sad, but still Blue

I said it before the match and I will say it again (with a slight edit after the result). If someone would have told me on August 1, 2007 that Sven and the lads would have 28 points from their 10 home games, I would have laughed right in their face. 3 Cheers for Sven!

Still can't beat Blackburn, how annoying. I am pretty baffled by the choice in lineup. I would settle for a draw vs Liverpool, but we should have won this match.

I wasn't able to see the match. Was their second goal offside? There seems to be much controversy.
