Bad idea after our best start in recent memory. We need some stability in the club and style of play be damned the only style I care about is the style of winning football.

I can’t believe some of the comments I’m reading. We’ve just had a change of owner, new manager and nine new players, and the team contained half of those players on saturday. Three in the back four.
For god’s sake, we fininshed well into the bottom half last season and in the latter stages looked as though we were being dragged into the mire.
Before the Reading game we had made the best start to a season in TEN years. To be fair to Allardyce, we are definately
making progress. I’ve watched Newcastle for 44 years and I’ve seen countless ‘blips’ along the way. Lost to Hereford one week, the next we won at Old Trafford. In 1971 we beat Inter Milan and in the next round were beaten by a team of part time Hungarians. This is football man, and its played by human beings not bloody robots.
Some of the ’supporters’ on saturday were an absolute disgrace. We have a new team, and they are booed after 12 minutes. It shouldn’t matter if they are ten down in five minutes. We are supposed to be supporters of Newcastle United, arguably the best fans in the country. What utter rubbish. A large portion of the fans who are attending home games are stiff living in the Keegan era. Wise up man, we will never see the likes of it again. Great as it was, it was a one off. Give up your tickets if all you are going to do is criticise and get on the players backs. This is a great way of shattering the confidence that the manager is trying to build, especially with the new players.
The players Allardyce has signed are all good experienced players who will succeed in the Premiership, and in Enrique he has found a diamond. If he is allowed to progress he will become a star. The same applies to Zogs, Martins and Milner. These are the players who are our future.
To the true suuporters of NUFC. Keep the faith, because Allardyce will deliver the goods. It won’t be tomorrow, or this season. He needs to add other quality players to the squad, and he will. The majority may be from overseas, but remember they will be wearing a black and white shirt. Lets give them real support instead of stick, because they will be as much Newcastle United as we are.
As for Saturday, it wasn’t good, but it will get better. I recall Sir Alex saying that a five nil defeat against us, and then a six three reverse at Southampton in successive games were only “a couple of blips”. We won’t win the title like they did that season, but we will improve. Just remember what its been like the last couple of years, its better already man!
Bring on the Mackems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!From another site I post on.

Couldn't agree with that more. Being a Philadelphia sports fan as well I've seen plenty of things like this. (Example last night being Eagles vs Cowboys) But any talk of sacking BSA is ridiculous. This team is starting fresh right now, they're going to have bumps on the way. This is not the type of league where you jump into Europe overnight. Some of his tactics may have been disagreeable but what he has done to get his players behind him is a big step forward. This team is on the right path in my opinion and when we get some players back from injury we'll be right back to establishing a solid foundation for a legitimate club. Give it time.

Haha, I'm sorry to hear that. At least you can enjoy finishing ahead of the Eagles in the NFC East this year.

If you all remember, I was not at all a fan of bringing Sam to St. James.

However, I am always a fan of giving a manager time to sort his shit out and not be punished for the sins of others. Sam is not the man to lead us to a Prem trophy, but he is the man that will build a good foundation and turn the club around.

Furthermore, I don't think you can discuss tossing out Sam, unless you talk about Mort and Ashley. In my eyes, none of them have done enough wrong to warrant a pink slip.

I'm on the same boat as Jared for the most part. I thought there were better options than Sam when Roeder got sacked, but now that he's here I'm not opposed to giving him some time. However, I could see Mort and Ashley not giving him as much time as some would hope they would simply because he wasn't their hire.

It is and that's why I posted it. I've been reading on various sites that the pressure was on for Sam to keep his job and quite frankly I find it rather shortsighted. So I wanted to create a forum to hear all of the brilliant reasons why BSA should be sacked.

As for style of play I will ask how many trophies did Keegan, Daglish, Gullit, and Robson win us? So forget style it doesn't matter at this point. The only thing that matters is getting this organization stabilized and moving in the right direction.

Chris Mort says you're having a laugh if you think BSA is going anywhere. (http://nufcblog.com/sam-allardyce-is-going-nowhere/)

When Newcastle Chairman Chris Mort was asked to comment on a News of the World report on Sunday, that Mark Hughes of Blackburn, was being lined up by Newcastle’s owner, Mike Ashley, Mort said:

“This kind of story does not merit a response; it is ludicrous.”

The dreaded vote of confidence. :D

At any rate, talk of him being sacked is just as misguided as talk of us having our best start in recent memory. We only have one win against a team in the top half of the table and we haven't played any of the 'Big Four'.

We play the same schedule last season and we'd have 8 points maybe 10 right now or does anyone remember being relegation candidates last year. Either the facts matter or they don't. Throw up last years schedule to date and this year schedule to date and tell me what you come up with.

We had eight points on a tougher schedule to this point last year. BFD.

Big Sam gets long term backing (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/newcastle/article2820772.ece)

Stability, steady growth and – ultimately – success are the goals of Chris Mort, Newcastle’s chairman, who recognises that a rapid turnover of managers has brought none of that to the club. It has taken all of 11 league matches – four of which have been lost – for Allardyce’s position to become a cause of speculation, but those reports were quashed with authority last night.

“Chopping and changing managers hasn’t worked,” Mort said. “Success stories at other clubs are often about longevity. The Premier League manager is clearly in a highly pressurised environment – four have gone this season – but the guys who have brought success have been there longer term. Sam is doing a great job.” Well said chairman and the majority seem to agree with you.

I do wonder if there is a small section of so called "supporters" that are going to be rooting for the mackems this weekend in order to heap more pressure on to Big Sam.

Keep the truthiness to one thread, please.

Last year has no bearing on this year, frankly, so I don't see what comparing the two does.
