What kind of title is that? Maria Adel is probably vomiting in her own mouth at the thought of such a tame Subject line :D

I drew a blank. Feel free to think of a funny title, and I'll edit it in.

To be honest I feel that we really don't need to spend any money here in the transfer window unless we sell Defoe which may or may not happen. I think Gunter is a good pickup and could be the guy who takes over for Pascal in the future. Jamie O'hara has popped on the scene and before Jenas got hurt he was showing signs of improvement. I feel that this team with Ramos's tactics has a chance to win a Cup or qualify again for Uefa Cup from League standings. Selling some people may not be a bad idea. That would mean next year we would be in a good financial position. Other then a striker I would not mind getting a good left midfielder with a left foot and I think that one just may be available in Matthew Taylor :D.
Also I like the youngsters we have and why not give people like Tomas Pekhart and Dorian Dervite a chance at breaking into the first team. I know Dervite is hurt at the moment but he could be very, very good.

I think we should still go for an out and out quality left winger, maybe sell and replace Defoe if he won't resign, and sell some deadwood.
That is all.

I agree, though I think we should still be on the lookout for a CB, thought since we are not in the position to challenge for CL, then I say we wait until summer for two big moves.

I feel the same way nutter in that we should wait until Summer to start signing the big names. Realistically we aren't going to finish higher then like 6th and that is being generous. I do think that we can make some noise in the Cups that we are drawn for. If we keep Defoe for the year and he keeps scoring off the bench it will not only be good for him but good for the team. I think that we should just sell, sell and sell some more cause I mean are there really any good Left mids/wings out there this moment besides the only one I know of(Matt Taylor).
Also if we do sell defoe I mean who would replace him at the 4th striker spot, would we bring up Pekhart or look elsewhere for a replacement?

Today
Who: Luka Modric
Position: Dinamo Zagreb's 22 year old #10 who is also a Croatian Nats
Why: Because he was good against England
Why's it's BS: Because being good against England makes you average :D
This guy's agent is making the rounds in London trying to sell his client. This is why we are linked with him. From all reports, Wenger is very impressed with him but thinks Croats have become like Englishmen in their ridiculous valuations. It's 20M Euro. While we may despise Arsenal, Wenger is no fool. And we don't need another AM. We need deep lying CM's or a LW. So I think its paper talk.

Jermaine Defoe has fired his agent Sky Andrew, who was thought to be the person keeping Defoe from signing. For all of you Defoe fans, I'm looking at you Hauler, it's a good (not definitive sign) that he will re-up his contract.

I read the deal for defoe is done they are just ironing out the financial information. I think our needs are pretty simple as state earlier, quality left winger, Central backs, and hey if we could get a playmaking middie that would be MONEY!

Ah yes. Sky Andrew. Spurs fan. Sol Campbell's agent and advisor. Some Campbell quotes while we waited for him to sign a new contract;
My heart and soul is here and I want to play for Spurs. I am going nowhere - for now - August 4, 2000.
I can assure everyone that I won't be signing for another club while I am still a Spurs player. I want to win the Premiership and I want success in Europe but, most of all, I want to believe I can achieve that here - December 3, 2000.
Being a Spurs fan as a boy and a player for so many years, it would be hard for me to sign for Arsenal. I don't think the fans here would ever forgive me - December 17, 2000. (Indeed!)
I want to play for Tottenham, that's it really. I am going nowhere - January 1, 2001.
I'm happy here and willing to do business now. I'm not selfish, I'm looking at the current situation and want the club to do well - January 5, 2001.
It's the ambition of Spurs and where we are going that concerns me. I have the right to keep my options open. Nobody can blame me for wanting success and above all wanting it at Tottenham. But talk is cheap - March 11, 2001.
As long as the club is healthy and things are in place, then myself and other players will want to join Tottenham or continue with them. I want to stay at Tottenham - March 26, 2001.
There is still a lot of sorting out to be done but I am sure it will be resolved - April 1, 2001.
I will leave it as late as possible - but I am happy at the moment and that is the main thing - April 13, 2001.
Going abroad is not in my mind. the ball is in Spurs' court now. I am in no hurry because I want to look at the whole picture. We will just have to wait and see what happens in the next two or three weeks - May 21, 2001.
Campbell then lit the blue touchpaper when he signed for Arsenal on a Bosman free on July 3, 2001.

Interesting - I had no idea. Also interesting that he may have been the one stringing this whole thing along. And he's a Spurs fan? Is he also a self-flagellant?

Erm yes, to redirect this hatefest slightly, there is a LOT of talk this side of the pond of you guys bidding for Lassana Diarra. I thought you guys had more midfielders than Fat Albert had hot dinners??

His agent was called by clubs interested in buying him.
Arsenal and Chelsea are still possibilites.
Apparently the past few days spurs and manchester city are stepping up to buy him.
Barcelona and Valencia are also involved.
Why Tottenham is interested?
He is better than any midfielder spurs currently have.

Im not really a Defoe fan. I just follow the story of Defoe and to be honest I just keep thinking to myself that there is no way we could find a striker as good as defoe that would be willing to sit on the bench for very long amounts of time and still be happy. That is the biggest thing I look at when I talk about Defoe. I completely understand that he would be even happier with more amounts of mins but still he comes off the bench and plays hard and he is a spur at heart or so I want to believe.

Welcome to the board, sensitive man. It is what is called "tongue-in-cheek"
And if he were better than what we had, he wouldn't be playing in your dinky league.
But I am sure he's a decent player. But he's not coming to us, so don't worry about it.

Modric is good but can't say I saw an £18 million player when watching him, I'm sure Dinamo are just hoping Man City or Chelski will overpay again. For that kind of money it's a huge gamble on someone coming from a weak league, internationally he's done pretty well but that's no guarantee on how he will cope with the physical side of the game.

Who:Guglielmo Stendardo
Position: 26 year old center half from Lazio
Why We Are Linked: see above statement, specifically the "center half" part
Why Its BS: AC Milan want him. Our interest may be legit, but we ain't trumping that.
He's been marginalized by Rossi, so he is unhappy, but considered talented. One of my best mates is Lazio. I am going to give him a call later to talk about him. I'll report back.
