Interestingly, they've both had different paths in terms of getting into the first team. Chantôme came out of nowhere a season ago to establish himself not only as a starter, but as a player to watch since before then he certainly wasn't very highly regarded. On the other hand, David N'Gog has been known to many in the PSG academy scheme (as well as Clairefontaine) since he was an U-16 I think, and according to some, he hasn't justified the hype yet. Many are expecting him to be another Anelka, and though he has shown glimpses of his ability, he hasn't yet had that breakthrough that some of the OL stars (Benzema, Ben Arfa) have had. Then again, he's only a U-18 international at the moment.

Chantôme has battled injuries during this year, but I've heard when he has played, he's done well enough. He's definitely improved since a year or two ago, though. N'Gog did score a wonderful goal against Nice, and he's done alright in some other games too, I think.

If this thread is about PSG's stars of tomorrow, though, we would be remiss if we didn't include Mamadou Sakho, who actually captained the team earlier in the season, and whom some think will be another Lilian Thuram. He was also the vice-captain of France's U-17 team this summer at the U-17 World Cup, and he's physically, as well as mentally, strong.

If I had to rank PSG's top 5 U-21 guys:

(DOB in parentheses)
Mamadou Sakho (1990)
Didier Digard (1986)
David N'Gog (1989)
Younousse Sankharé (1989)
Granddi Ngoyi (1988)
Clément Chantôme (1987)
Youssouf Mulumbu (1987)

I included Mulumbu since Digard isn't a homegrown player like the others.
