How much money did the African football Federation stick into Sick Bladder's back pocket to close the deal ? England and Brazil I feel sorry for you you deserve it more. No I don't care about holding it in the same contitnent 2 times in a row. I see nothing wrong with it let the best candidates host regardless of location.

well then, maybe we should change the name to Euro and South America Cup.
Yes, it's World Cup we are talking about.
You can't have 'em all ;)

I think you mis the reason why its called the world cup...because teams from around the world play it, not because its held in every country. (if you havent noticed i was being ironic)
Also Seth Blatter is the dodgiest person ever to work in football. The only reason he got the job again was because of his bribes....and that he "promised" to hold WC in africa so therefore got all african votes. This is tottally unfair as there will be no point in any non african country even bidding for it.
It will be in South africa. I cant see or imagine any other african nation could cope or fund a successful bid

Considering that the World Cup 2006 only went to Germany instead of South Africa because of Titanic (http://www.titanic-magazin.de/archiv/0800/index.php) [Titanic (http://www.titanic-magazin.de)]. :D
It really should go to South Africa this time.

What's the source here? It's such a poorly translated article (if it really is) that for all I know it could be saying just the opposite of what you think. Either that or it's a joke of some type. Can we get some coraborating information?

All of Blatter's support comes from the Third World, upon whom he lavishes the loot and goodies in return for their support.
First off, take a look at who these "National Representatives" are: for the most part, they're friends and relatives of corrupt dictators whose idea of Government service translates as "stealing everything you can get your hands on"
Compared to them, the UEFA and COCACAF Delegates are as pure as driven snow.
All most of these thieves are in it for is cash, free trips, luxury hotels, expenses-paid vacations and four star meals.
Meanwhile, the countries who generate the money that keeps world soccer going get outvoted by these guys who can't even field a decent AR for the WC, let alone a team.
Africa is a horrible place to play the WC. The facilities suck and they have no money for more, the transportation and communications systems, not to mention the hotels, are a shambles, and South Africa, in case you don't read the papers, is quickly sliding into total anarchy.
But Sepp got reelected, and that's all that matters. The payoff is an African WC. God help us all.

Perhaps a little direct for my tastes :)
However, I totally agree with what this forthright gentleman has to say!
Hosting a WC in Africa is an awful idea, and I'm talking about South Africa here!
I simply cannot believe some people entertain the possibility of Morocco or Egypt hosting it.
What an absolutely preposterous suggestion.

I heard the 2014 one will be in the US which is awesome! But kind of cheap, cause we just had it 8 years ago, but we're the US so we get whatever we want!

Try adding a bit more venom, I don't think you quite killed you're post.
Come 2010, then you can talk. Until then, these are just pre concieved media induced rantings with little basis in reality.

I guess since this whole thread is based on fantasy, it couldn't hurt to throw a nugget like this one in to stir up the pot...
Still no reliable source? I thought so.

The point is it's a one off.
Africa is the 3rd biggest football continent, and has never had the WC.
Promising to give it to Africa next once because they have never had but are the 3rd strongest football power, is hardly corrupt.
Blatter may be dodgey, but Europe has a bigger say than Africa, so why would he want to lose European votes and gain African votes?
After Africa deservedly gets the WC at last, then selection can go back to normal.

Adding ridiculous smilies doesn't make it true, my freind.
I'm sorry you interpret unvarnished truth as "venom".
As for the rest of your sentence, I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

I have never read any of this anywhere in the "media" What are you referring to? I persoanlly am not the "media".
But OK fine: Are you saying that Africa has the appropriate facilities? That SA is not crashing down around everyone's heads?
Or do you say "Come 2010" because, by some magical stroke the geopolitical problems of war, famine, plague and corruption will be magically gone by then?
I think YOU need to make an appointment with reality, not me.

So what? One off, ten off, the problems are still going to be there.
Africa is the 3rd biggest football continent, and has never had the WC.
What does this mean? And what does it matter?
The WC is not some charity. It's a business, a BIG business, and Africa is not able to host it at this time, It's simply absurd.
Promising to give it to Africa next once because they have never had but are the 3rd strongest football power, is hardly corrupt.
I still have no idea what the continent of Africa being "the 3rd strongest football power" means.
Not a frikkin clue.
Blatter may be dodgey, but Europe has a bigger say than Africa, so why would he want to lose European votes and gain African votes?
Europe has as many votes as it has countries.
If Europe had "a bigger say" (whatever THAT means) then Sepp Blatter would be gone.
After Africa deservedly gets the WC at last, then selection can go back to normal.
Africa will "deserve" a WC when it is able to successfully host one. Until then, they don't "deserve" anything.
And Sepp Blatter is using this to curry favor with third world delegates in order to keep himself in power. If you can't even admit that, there's not much point in discussing it.
Your problem is that you don't much care for hearing the truth.
Sorry.

I suppose you have a financial report of South Africa and it's ability to host the WC.
Seeing as you don't you are making far too many presumptions. South Africa already has some big stadiums.
If a poor country like Mali can host the African nations cup well with no problems, then I'm sure a relativly rich country like South Africa can host the World Cup.
South Africa has hosted the Rugby and Cricket World Cups very successfully. If it was up to people like you they wouldn't have had them.

Yes, let's have a WC just like the African Nations Cup in ********in MALI. Just perfect.
I have nothing against South Africa or any other third world sinkhole of pestilence, famine, hatred and poverty.
But I really think the WC ought to be held in countries not on the verge of open civil war, where large parts of the country are not beyond government control, where 40% of the population isn't infected with AIDS, and where you can buy a decent meal, make a phone call and use a bathroom.
Sorry if you find this elitist.
