Which of these two strikers has made a better contribution to the Bayern Munich team so far this season, Miroslav Klose or Luca Toni?

Equal. Nothing between them.

Well, lately clearly Toni, but both have been invaluable over the course of the season.

Neither of them have any interest in joining Chelsea

He was asking an honest question, I believe.

They have both conributed tremendously and wouldn't really have been that effective without the other so it is tough.

If I had to pick one player though it would be Klose. When he is one he does it all while Toni is more of a traditional goal poacher.

On the other hand even if Toni has an off-day you can always hoof the ball to him and he will draw fouls (if only we had a decent freekick taker...). His physical presence is very important to the team and that's what we lacked in the past years. Klose completely disappeared in some games.

Yup, thats why I said when Klose is in form. That is also why Klose and Toni compliment each other so well.

And yea, what the hell is up with our free kicks? It is ridiculous, how many goals have we scored from direct free kicks in the last couple of years? Can't be more than 5-10. Thats another reason I want Kroos to play, a 17 year old is our best free kick taker. When he isn't on the field, Ze Roberto should take more free kicks methinks.

Well, I think Lucio should never try to do it again, ever. Ze, Pig are very average as is Ribery but he's ok in set peice situations... Why not try Lahm, he can cross damn well or Sagnol, just try someone NEW since all our players SUCK at taking them. It's pathetic... It might be a dumb idea for those 2, but I just want to at least see someone else try to take since everyone else sucks..

Klose is a complete player, he is a playmaker as well as a goal machine which is why he is such a valuable player. He had 16 assists last, imagine having that this season, it would be incredible.

Well, as everyone said already they are a team... but seeing as Klose seems to pass it to Toni alot more than Toni does likewise, I'm gonna have to go with Klose, as Klose makes plays whereas Toni is more of a ball hog.

Some thoughts on the comparison:

1) If both are on form, Toni has a very weak case for being on Klose's level as a center forward.

2) Klose plays both as a link man with the midfield and a target man, oftentimes at the same time. That is simply invaluable. No other forward, save perhaps Ibrahimovic, is so immensely talented at creating as well as finishing.

3) Toni's immense size and physicality makes him the more effective player if neither are on form.

4) Both are fantastic forwards. In a ranking of world center forwards, for me at least, Klose would be at the top and Toni towards the bottom of the top 10. I have faith that both will shine for Bayern.

Bayern did a damn good job getting these two forwards.

Since the question is which player has made a better contribution to Bayern and not who is the better player (which seems like some are answering), I think both players have made an equal contribution to the them. Both players have their weaknesses and strengths but both players strengths seem to offset the other's weakness; therefore both players compliment each other nicely.

Both players are equally contributing to Bayern, but i think when Toni is out there were more likely to socre when its just Klose out there alone, but i blame that on Hitz not playing Poldi with Klose and going with a single striker(Berlin game).

the better player overall though has to be klose but thats not the question.
