The gossip columns are talking again about Curbishley's interest in Darren Bent, who they say is a " 17 million pounds rated striker"!
17 million?????? I would think 7 million would be too much. Any comments?

I think I'd offer about 5.

£17m is close to what Spurs paid for him, the gossip seems to suggst a £10m fee.

I'd sooner have Huddlestone.

If we go for Bent, then Ashton leaves.

Can't really see Spurs letting him go. It is not so much that his form has been bad, he just hasn't been getting a run of games to show any decent form! After paying so much money so recently it would seem a bit hasty to let him go. Having said that he was never worth 17/18m originally... so hard to put a value on him.

Why? Different players, different strengths

I agree Stomps, very different. Actually think they would complement each other.

Offer 6 mill, if they want money for transfers as much as the papers say. They may let him go for 8-10, could be the bargain of the year.

Exactly my opinion. He's got more speed than Ashton, but Ashton holds the ball better

Not a penny more than £10m. He would definitely compliment Ashton's game more than hinder it. I think Bent would relish having Ashton alongside him as well to sent him on plenty of runs at goal.
