Is Merry Solstice more appropriate than Happy Solstice?

At any rate, happy holidays across all faith traditions to everyone in Spirituality and Religion. :)

I use "Happy Solstice" as well, reserving Merry for Brandybuck.

And for those of you keeping track, it occurs at 01:08 am ET tonight (ie. - Dec. 22), though of course, the celebrations start at sundown tonight. Be safe with the bonfires!

Thank you Norsk x2. How did I miss that? Oh, well....I'm off to buy that bottle of Bushmills (it's on sale). Merry Solstice!

Merry Solstice. I forgot how much I like Bushmills. Anyhow, I was reading some stuff by this Chinese poet Tu Fu and I thought I would share it.

"Cliffs of scarlet cloud gleam in the West;
The sun’s feet are sinking beneath the Earth.
By the rustic gate sparrows are twittering.
The stranger returns to his home from a thousand li.
My wife is astonished that I still exist.
No longer bewildered, she wipes away her tears.
I was drifting sand in the wind of the world’s anger.
It is just fate that has brought me back alive.
The fence gate is filled with neighbor’s faces,
Sighing and shedding a few tears.
In the deep of the night we light a new candle
And see each other face to face as in a dream."
