If Agger is fully ready to go then I say start him. Any updates on Finnan or Gerrard? If Gerrard is out still with stomach flu then Lucas can come in for him, If Finnan is still out keep my above lineup. If he is in, maybe put Arbeloa on the bench instead of Riise.

Pompey will obviously be looking for a draw or a 1-0 victory, but with the above lineup I think we will be able to break them down. I don't think Benjani will cause Carra too many problems, and our midfield SHOULD boss there's.

I hope the crowd is very supportive of the team and manager despite this little rough patch.

2-1 to the good, a double from Torres, let's get back on track. This is another must-win, especially in competition for UEFA CL place.

Yeah, I said that earlier in a different thread. According to some and the press, every game from the beginning of the season is a must-win. God forbid if the ball doesn't fall our way or the referee decides he is going to take the day off.

I doubt we will ever see any team, but Liverpool ;), go completely undefeated in all competitions.

And ive been bagged by Teso and others for saying that we are more attacking than them...this season has given them the image of flat-track bullies...just going all out against the lower teams and shutting up shop against the bigger teams whilst riding their luck

Nice line-ups but I think Riise has certainly come into some form in the last 3 matches and deserves a start. Alonso will be badly needed. Expect another funny central 3 and 3 front from Benitez.

well I think that'll be how my lineup will play with Harry as the left in a 3-3; and you can switch JAR and Aurelio interchangably for this match -- I simply thought Aurelio would get the better balls into the box than JAR.

That wouldn't be bad at all. Actually, this may well be the first time that Alonso, Aurelio and Kewell have started together. However, for some reason I do not see Redknapp being gung-ho; expect Benjani to start on his own up front and the rest to congest the midfield. In which case, we need our players to attack down the flanks. Babel looks handy in tight areas.

I just hope the players show more invention and movement than in the Reading and Manure matches. The next matches are going to be important.

I still feel the Babel and Yossi are at their best coming on at the hour mark. They give speed and width to the team at a time the oppo defense is starting to wear out. When they start they're only 20 minute players right now and then they just disappear. They can give Harry and Dirk a rest. I like the Harry/JAR link up but Aurellio has my vote for this one.

I'll go with LB's line up and forward this on to Rafa.

what i see is that he tends to underestimate (!) the ability of two defenders to strip him of the ball. he's very good one-on-one, but he's not going to get fouls called when he takes on the two centrebacks or full back and centreback at the edge of the box. he hasn't been in the league long enough to get the kind of respect that someone like Gerrard would get.

i'm betting on this line-up, too... we need to end this skid, so i don't think rafa will mess around with rotation and will just put the best line-up he has available... but i wouldn't be surprised to see babel start and harry sub for him... maybe that's the reason why rafa pulled him early on wednesday, eventhough he was the only player that looked like he was capable of scoring out there...

so glad xabi is back, and even more glad that the game on fsc... i'm sick of watching games on my computer...
