Basement side Derby travel to Tyneside for a 2pm kick-off on Sunday looking for only their second victory of the season - and their first double.
NUFC: To follow...Duff, Taylor, Enrique and Ameobi appeared in a behind-closed doors friendly on Tuesday, but Owen wasn't risked and won't feature on Sunday.
News is awaited on Carr, while Ramage remains sidelined. Faye also had a runout on Wednesday but won't be considered for duty against Derby.
DCFC: To follow...former Magpie Andy Griffin has a calf injury Stephen Pearson and Robert Earnshaw are also injury doubts.
A 0-1 home defeat on Saturday at the hands of the Smoggies made it no wins out of three for new recently- appointed Rams boss Paul Jewell and extended their run of defeats to seven on the bounce (their record is eight).
Derby have scored just once away from home this season in nine games - from toon fan Steve Howard netting during a 1-4 reverse at Old Trafford earlier this month, one of eight losses on the road.
Their only away point to date came in a 0-0 stalemate against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Ref: Andre Marriner - only our third meeting with his West Midlands-based whistler since he managed not to show either side a card as we lost 1-2 at Norwich in 2005.
His only visit to Tyneside saw him splashing around with the players as we accounted for Portsmouth 3-0 in the League Cup on a wet night here in October 2006.
So far this season Marriner has officiated one of Derby's games - the 0-2 home loss to Chelsea that saw the axe fall soon after for Rams boss Billy Davies and his assistant David Kelly.
Rams in Toon: Premiership Years:
2001/02 Won 1-0 Shearer (pen)
2000/01 Won 3-2 Cort, Cordone, Glass
1999/00 Won 2-0 Eranio OG, Shearer
1998/99 Won 2-1 Dabizas, Glass
1997/98 Drew 0-0
1996/97 Won 3-1 Elliott, Ferdinand, Shearer
