A few of last week's blog posts:
11 Ways to draw attention (http://www.blackdevl.net/nycfc/2007/12/11/best-xi-ways-to-become-an-attention-whore-for-nyc-fc/) to a NYC FC... some humorous, some food for thought. I really like the Today Show one.
The latest on Flushing's Iron Triangle (http://www.blackdevl.net/nycfc/2007/12/11/iron-triangle-redevelopment-still-on-track/).
The case is made for Fred Wilpon (http://www.blackdevl.net/nycfc/2007/12/13/fred-wilpon-is-your-daddy/) as the NYC FC owner.
After 70+ votes, the people choose New York FC (http://www.blackdevl.net/nycfc/2007/12/14/poll-results-name-the-nyc-fc/) as the team name.
The Borough Boys' plans (http://www.blackdevl.net/nycfc/2007/12/15/borough-boys-look-forward-to-2008/) for a big 2008.
Update on the situation surrounding other candidate cities (http://www.blackdevl.net/nycfc/2007/12/15/group-of-death-opposition-to-nyc-fc-mounts/) and how they impact a NYC FC bid.

To say wilpon is not a soccer fan is questionable..... maybe he has discovered the sport in the last few years... maybe he saw some thing in those soccer games that were played at shea in the late 90's Colombia vs el salvador and colombia vs honduras...
its also not fair to say wilpon is cheap seeing how doubleday was the one holding every one back all those years.....
what ever the case NY Mets soccer cant come soon enough..
perhaps the dude from the web site should make contact and get an actual interview with mr wilpon rather than assume stuff.......if this were to happen i think alot of questions could be answered....

There is nothing that shows that Wilpon is a soccer supporter, but we do know that he is a sports fan and a business man. He has also shown that he wants to market to the Latino population.
There is lots of evidence that Wilpon is a baseball fan though even if you discount that he owns the Mets and Cyclones (he played high school baseball, his best friend is Sandy Koufax, donated money to fund baseball projects, etc). Nothing like this links him to soccer.
If you can find me something that shows Wilpon is a soccer fan I would love to read it. Look at the stuff I wrote about Hank Steinbrenner. Obviously, he is a soccer fan, even over baseball.
its also not fair to say wilpon is cheap seeing how doubleday was the one holding every one back all those years.....
I did not say Wilpon was cheap at all. I said some Mets fans may call him cheap compared to Steinbrenner. I also called Doubleday the cheap Mets co-owner that was against building Citi Field.

It's a blog, not a newspaper. The site does have have some news articles and rumors from different sources, but it will also have my opinion.
I am working on something about contacting the Mets, but really the website is a place for people to find out about a NYC FC without having to go to 20 different sites that might not even be about soccer or New York.

Dear Kubah,
Wilpon, Steinbrenner or other persons, the only importance thing is to put NYCFC in MLS in 2010 !!!
Why Miami presented the project for new soccer stadium and for NYC is it so difficult to do the same ?
November 2008 is coming !! Wake up Wilpon !!

Why hasn't NYC presented a project? Because it isn't as easy as you think it is, especially in one of the boros. It's not just getting a drawing of a stadium on a piece of paper and presenting it to the city and the league. Besides, nothing has even been comfirmed about the Wilpons yet. I don't want to be pessimistic because I also want a team in NYC, but you can't just expect the team to pop up over night.

"Pessimistic"? I prefer "realistic". Pessimistic sounds so negative :D
As for Wilpon, the league has mentioned him by name as someone they are talking to among other NYC bidders. I doubt Wilpon will let his named be used if there was not something there.
I hope we all understand that this is going to take time and luck.
