No Bellamy, no Boa Morte,no Etherington, no Faubert, no Dyer, no Bowyer; and several others not fully fit yet.
We have the longest injury list in the PL, and until AC can put out his number 1 team, we'll be hard pressed to get points. Given who we have to play over the holidays, it's a worry. It's actually amazing we've done as well as we have so far, but the stress appears to be telling. We just aren't scoring goals although we should have got at least 2 today.

Agree with you Les. We've done well so far and it will get better, wait and see.

Having Bellamy back will help, but what we really lack is a creative midfielder to break down strong defenses and we don't have one on the books.

THEY score more goals than we do.

Batcave mate, did you see Parker against Everton? He was good and will get better. Faubert to come in, plus Bellend and Ashton to get match fit. We'll be fine.

I think our problem is relatively simple.......Stomper got it right.....we can't score enough goals.

Our defence is actually quite good and I think our midfield is ok. Parker impressed me on Saturday and with Noble and hopefully a keen and fit Bowyer to come back (I never thought we would miss him but his latest games showed he has the ability to score goals), backed up by Mullins would seem to be rasonable although we could get better.

Our forwards are our problem. Ashton doesn't look fit, Bellamy is sorely missed...even Bobby Z is missed. Cole has tried hard but needs support. LBM has put himself about in the past few games prior to injury but is only a stopgap. Camara is a complete waste of space and should be sent back to Wigan...even now, with the problems we have. Ljunberg gives me a headache watching him let alone the migraines he is meant to suffer from!!!

If we take into account all of the injuries this season, then our position on the ladder is probably as good as we could be at this stage of the season.

Assuming we get Faubert back in the New Year and Bellamy by end of January, the I would like to see us finding a creative midfielder and and attacking left sided player as Ethers is a bit hit or miss. Don't understand why we are linked with Stephen Carr...he is past it and not good enough...hopefully this is just tabloid talk.

Agreed with all that Ballard. Not sure about the left winger part though as on paper we have two left wingers and both have done alright this season. In the event that both are unavailable I am sure one of the four right wingers we have could deputise.

Really, what is the deal with Stephen Carr? Have some of our old Newcastle lads recommended him to AC or what? He doesn't get a start at Newcastle. Also isn't he a full back and aren't we OK in that area?

I have been looking forward to seeing Faubert in action since he signed. He looks like a real no nonsense winger, kind of like a center back with the delivery and pace of a winger. We probably won't see the best of him until next season now.
