He he...
If you look at our draft on the Chelsea board Mark, you'll see i have 2 of those first 4 players.
I'm using the Chloe/Keegan tactic this year.

Noticed that, this draft will be a very tough challenge for my Keegan like tendencies. After all I wore a red number 7 shirt in 1974 when he scored two in the cup final.
Still think Alec Lindsay's goal should have counted, would've been 4-nil instead of 3!
Uh-oh "age alert" :)
I still do not see 2 teams in our division.
We have Olfin United, aka Davey Lambert, aka Scouse who dropped out and 8 other managers of our ten teams.
I still do not see a team registered for Darr or for MtKillamanjohno.

I pm'ed the password to Darr a little while ago, I would imagine that Mtkillaman needs it still.

Great player.
I remember to this day all the papers full of the "i'll never play for England again" headlines the day after he was snubed in the selection.
I emailed the password to MtKillamanjohno

6pm Eastern is going to be midnight over here.
Unless it gets back to me quickly, I'll be asleep.
So I'm counting on ALL you guys to be online with some rapid fire picks.
We still need MtKillamanjohno to join the Very Small Rocks division and Scouse, aka Olfin to remove his team.
Paul, aka Clanblue, I've copied and duplicated your spreadsheet with the multiple worksheets that you are using for the other live draft. Nice Job.
http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze3h6nc/CYKI-EPL.xls
As in your thread, once we get into the draft, I suggest each manager post their entire draft with each new selection. That way, for those managers not using a spreadsheet like Paul's to keep track, you will only have to review the last 6-8 posts to see if someone was picked.

We are all still bound by the 100 M overall cap and by the no more than 3 players from any one team.
This is additional info you might want to post, these fields come from Paul's spreadsheet and running total of money remaining.

If Scouse doesn't check back in here, the moderator (Jay?) can remove him too.

How are we going to handle players that have transferred in but aren't yet listed? Some moves, like Kanoute to Spurs, for example, are completed but aren't likely to be in the league yet. The obvious solution is to add them to a supplemental draft done on an agreed date, with all transfers off limits until then.
With players whose transfers are complete as of today, what do you think of a coach naming that player today, then waiting until the draft's over and taking his choice of what's left. Most of these transfers will surely be online before the season starts, so the only issue would be having to guess the player's value. Added risk for the coach. Nothing up my sleeve, there isn't a secret Arsenal move for Ronaldo or anything...

I think the transfer deadline for Champs League and UEFA play is Thursday.
I would imagine all big signings will be done by then.
It isn't really an issue with players like Veron (to Chelsea?) as they have a value and are in the premiership. But you're right it is a bit of a problem with players coming from outside the premiership like Kanoute.
I say if someone wants to take a risk and pick a player like Kanoute go for it. The fantasy site has been quick to get players listed with a price after they've been transferred in.
By the time we get to the 15th round all prices should be set. I think this draft is gonna take about a week anyway, especially with 10 players.
If someone does run into money problems the trading begins :)

The problems will come later in the rounds as the pool of players is greatly reduced quite rapidly and the salary cap is a real bother.
We are about to enter the 6th round of our draft on the CFC board and already plans have to be made for the salary cap.
The amount of players being taken with 10 players is making a vast difference over the one we did last season and the cap is a real issue.
August 31st is the deadline for the Champions league and Uefa cups.
Anybody (like Chelsea) who is involved in a qualifier of any sort must submit a team list by August 7th.
All teams that come thru the qualifiers will then submit a revised list on August 31st with all the other teams that had automatic entry to the rounds proper.
This is to cover any players bought in the mean time.
1. Each week, every manager has 1 free transfer that does not cost 4 points. These can't be saved up. Use it or lose it.
2. I made the decision last year to go for the cup competitions. Hence I made lots of transfers which cost me mega points in the overall table standings according to Fantasy.premierleague.com. I made this decision base on not having the ability to have Henry, Van Nistelrooy, and Beattie all on my Very Small Rocks team due to the draft and each player can only be on one team. Thus, my reasoning was that the draft league teams are not likely to be competitive compared to undrafted teams, say, in The Premier League Division.
3. With the 50 % transfer fee on profits, rounded up to the nearest .1 M, it will slow the increase in team valuations. The fear is that if you don't get the top players now, you'll never be able to afford them.
4. Another concern is on the highest priced players. A player's value fluctuates based on how many mangers transfer that player in vs transfer that player out each week. With most managers grabbing the highest priced players, the downside financially is much more than the up side. Drop them quick if they get injured if in a non-draft league. But in the drafted league, it's tough to let go of injured players so you ride the drop in player valuation and having so much invested in a non-playing bench player.
5. I think Michel mentioned it in one of the forum posts in The Premier League division - Who will be the 3.0 and 4.0 surprises this season? Who will be the Rooney's, the Sun's, the Hibbert's? Every manager should watch the first few games closely and grab those bargain players who play regularly and ride their quick valuation raise by 1-2 M so you make a tidy profit when you sell them. Then you can get the mid level players who you couldn't afford before with the high priced players.
6. A common source of these surprises are the transfers in and the players for the newly promoted teams. Does anyone have a good read on the likely starting line-ups for the newbies, especially with their aggressive strengthening campaigns?
7. I think it was quite shrewd of Michel to pick up Postiga with his first pick. Helps avoid salary cap problems; takes a player whose value is more likely to rise than decline; and allows him to build a team that includes a bench of starting players so that the automatic substitution rule can help run up your score.

Thanks Hal,
That was the idea.... but now that Hoddle has signed Kanoute as well, I'm wondering if I might have drafted another Rebrov.

Good points Hal.
The new Hibberts, Suns and Rooney's of last year will be interesting. Rooney is now worth 9m. LOL.
As the last person in the draft I may have to play some tricks or use black magic or something. Having 9 people pick ahead of you is bad news. My brain is hurting waiting to see who gets picked.
This is gonna be a great draft though, different strategies, some very experienced players. Many of the players did really well overall last season in cup contests and in the wider league. It is gonna be difficult to slip in an unexpected pick here or there as those that have done their research will have earmarked them.
I expect a lot of "I was just about to pick him posts".
My advice, "don't wait for the next round to pick someone you have in mind, pick 'em now!"
90 minutes to go ...
