All Darr's picks have been taken so, with the power of attorney invested in me, I'll use the same logic and find the cheapest possible defender to fit the slot.

-- Edited to Add.....

Edworthy, Wolves 3.5 -- Defender.
Balance = 8.5

Paul,

The subs are automatic if one of your starters doesn't play. This does not count against your transfers. That is, if you select the automatic transfer option.

0 points without the option if a player doesn't play.

possible + or - points based on the strength of your bench when automatically subbed in if you have that option selected.

I think the experience is that auto subs usually are + points unless you have a bench of players from weak teams who play and might get subbed in and be accompanied by a - point score.

If you have non-starting scrubs on your bench it makes no difference. When the auto sub is looking to select a sub, the first criteria is that the bench person has to have played.

:)

Because it's a waste of monet really as he costs more and forces me to pick three scrubs for the bench.
If a starter from my 11 on match day doesn't play, the system won't auto sub the other starting keeper in his place as it will look to the 3 "outfield" players.
I spent bugger all on the keeper so that i could have 2 subs on the bench that will be starting every week.

I always plan for a bench of 4 players likely to play that are elligible to be tapped as the automatic sub.

The large teams do rotations with their top players which catches one unprepared without a full playing bench. There are also the unannounced injuries or the game day decisions that are decided after the weekly deadline for roster submission has passed. For me, I think I need a starting goalie on the bench as well as 3 starting field players.

14. Van Bommel Tottenham 7.0 -- Midfield ** (Very Provisional)
Balance = (6.0)

------------------------------

Personally I don't agree with the placeholders for players not in the game's database yet, but as this seems to be the new modus operandus.... I shall join in and take it a little further

In the spirit of true Fantasy Football, 1800-UK.com have signed Van Bommel for £7 million, according to stories filed by newspaper reporters suffering from sun-stroke.

Thanks Hal for the proxy pick. Nice pick also for Michel: might be very provisional but he'll be a great player if he comes. I'm in and out regularly now so I promise I'll be around to make my final pick.

Also gives you the option to switch if the 'reserve' has two games, or looks like he'll let less in against Leicester than your star keeper will away to Manchester or Chelsea.

As Michel is selecting Darr's next pick, I move that someone, or a committee that can reach a consensus, make MtKillamanjohno's next two picks if he isn't here.

He left after his last post and missed our requests to stick around. I'm not willing to wait until tomorrow at 9 PM (3 AM for Michel) for him to pick two scrubs that he will probably swap out in the post-draft roster adjustments.

I sent him a PM requesting he either return or PM his list of picks to a proxy selector, or expect that we would make his picks for him.

Comments?

Several of us suggested a list of choices. He's done after these two picks, yet none of us can do a single thing until he gets them in. If he's not here to make them I think we have no choice but to do it ourselves.

It's 2.17 am here.... get Mt's picks in.... then I can put this to bed from my end with my last pick... and Darr's...

Oh, and put myself to bed.

We can squabble about everything else before the season starts.

Suggestions for MtKill's striker pick.

With 8.0 to spend, I'm looking at strikers valued at 5 or less:

Chopra_ Newcastle_ 1 4.0
Kirovski_ Birmingham_ 29 5.0
Bellion_ Man. United_ 22 4.5
(might be popular and rise in value)
Bridges_ Leeds_ 6 5.0
(think he is finally fit)

Yes, but the starting goalie on the bench will only be auto subed in when your other keeper is out.
He will never take the place of an outfield player.
I just think having the reserve to the starting keeper is a wiser economic choice as he is the auto replacement in both real life and the system.

I think Bellion was picked already, but not sure

I vote Kirovski, he's a yank after all

Only Bridges has a shot of consistent playing time from that group, he'll be a shrewd pick if he's anywhere near his pre-injury days. I'd say him.

Good point

Bridges, last call, no objections, done!

Bridges might be going to the toon.

How many Toon players does he have?

Fortune seems the logical choice.

I drafted the injured Murphy in Round 13.
