The work permit was a joke.
lol
And as for transfers.... I say we just have to be vigilant.
Post transfers in the in-game forum.
1st come first served.

I've been here all day. :(
If I don't get to pick.... you'll all be held up all night.
Could you avoid this potential problem by PMing a short list of choices for a draft or drafts to someone who is sure to be active? You only have to consider the possibility of 2 players going before you pick, chances are they won't both be players you're scouting.

Ack. Guilty of gullibility... Let's just say I'm ready if he or any other middie breaks a leg in the next week or so now after some hurried research!

It takes 24 hours to swing around if some people don't make the effort to get to a computer or give their picks to a proxy, if they know they'll be away for a long period of time.... and it's very annoying for those who do make the effort to do everything possible to help things run smoothly.

You're missing the point.
I've made the effort to be here all day and all night... while some others haven't.
So I hang around for 18-20 hours just to give a list of possible picks.
The lists are for those who are not going to be around for LONG periods of time.

Actually I see your point perfectly, having been on and off now for 7 hours with no motion. But to avoid a similar stall when you go to bed, which I assume would be a relatively "long period of time," why not send the list anyway. Alternatively we who are online later could always proxy pick for mt. kill if such action is necessary before you get to bed.

Hot damn tamale! The emotional rollercoaster continues for Ingromius! Faye is now on the premiership site, so here's the official info while we kill time. I was wrong on his price.
Faye 5.5 Portsmouth Mid
Which leaves me an additional 1.5 mil in my funds for the final 2 picks!
The veterans in this division may assume that the newbies understand how post-draft transfers work. That is probably a false assumption. So let me explain the process.
Once the draft is complete, managers must load their drafted team. (have to comply with the salary cap and limit of no more than 3 from one team)
For those draftees, not yet in the game database, pick an obscure player to temporarily complete your roster.
Trades can be arranged between managers. Ensure the trade doesn't bust either in salary cap nor violate the 3 player per team limit.
Announce the trade in a post in the Very Small Rocks II message forum. Then the managers execute the trade by dropping and adding the agreed to players.
For picking someone out of the non-drafted player pool, first, make an announcement post saying which player you are dropping back into the available player pool and which player you are acquiring. Include name and valuations.
In the message title for trade announcements, put
"Name OUT Name IN"
then put the details in the message:
Name team cost pos OUT
Name team cost pos IN
For multiple transactions, maybe post the following title, "2 OUT Name, Name" or "2 IN Name, Name"
then put the details in the message.
Such clues in the title helps others sort through chaff messages to isolate the trade messages.
Then, if your post is the first post regarding that new acquisition, then go ahead and make the trade. That is how we do first come, first served.
We have a penalty if you pick a player on another team, a) you have to reverse the trade (costs you the 4 pts during the season); you lose any points that player earned that week if no one catches the inelligible player on your team until after the week's deadline closes.
When you draft a player who is not yet in the database, and the player's valuation comes in and puts you over the 100M cap, then you lose the right to draft that player and other managers can then acquire him on a first come first served basis.
You can't drop other drafted players to free up cap.
You then complete your roster with another player available in the player pool.
Other veterans feel free to supplement or correct my explanation of how post-draft transfers are made.

I did leave picks last night. And Darr (who held us up yesterday) has left his picks with me..... and I would be more than happy to leave my picks again... and pass on Darr's if things had been moving at a 'reasonable' pace.
BUT...
To be more blunt....
mtkillamanjohno was not prepared to do this, even though the suggestion was put to him.

I don't see Kleberson yet.

Hal
Your post covers nearly all the bases.
I would add that we need to keep the trades posted somewhere more permanent than the premierleague.com forum which fades away after a while.
Is someone going to keep rosters on a web site like last team?
While the draft is still going I suggest this thread and then when it is over a new thread in this same area of BS for trade announcements. Threads here are a little more likely to stick around unless we have another crash.

1. The official post for determining who was first should be in the Very Small Rocks II message forum. What I don't want to have to do is be checking for trades in two places before I make my trade announcement.
2. I have been using Paul's, aka Clanblue, spreadsheet to keep track of all the trades. If someone has a website, this is a good enough format for me unless Michel wants to do his web pages again.
3. I kept my own individual spreadsheet last year and updated the list with each announced trade.

The PremierLeague.com site is the best place for transfer announcements.
The forums keep trades long enough.....
Perhaps we should have a thread devoted to each gameweek?

I concur on the premierleague site for trades, I take it back :)
Maybe once the draft is done you could email the spreadsheet to me and I could post it online using my web space:
(www.trumanlibrary.org - 50,000 pages and counting!)
I'll be glad to host, but am not too thrilled about keeping it updated. Especially as I will be running cup contests etc.
If someone else updates, emails to me, I can ftp to my server and it will be live on the 'net.
Plus, there are times when BigSoccer.com is busy and I can't get in. (Yes, I'm a non-premium member.)
I'd hate to have to wait until I got BigSoccer.com access to announce a trade, then go to premierleague.com to execute it. Easier to stay within the premierleague.com server environment.
BTW,
I have Jay's proxy and list from which to make his 13th and 14th picks. He reserves the right to make the 15th pick himself.
I'll be breaking to comute home from 5:10 to 6:00 PM EST.
