Franz Beckenbauer is the best footballer ever, not a rumour or wishful thinking, but a simple statement of fact.

Bayern set to part ways with Hitzfeld
Bayern Munich are almost certain to part with their Champions League-winning coach Ottmar Hitzfeld at the end of the season, according to reports in the German press on Friday.
Hitzfeld, 58, has been in discussions to take over as the coach of Switzerland's national team after June's Euro 2008 tournament and Bayern are recruiting a coach for next season, report tabloid newspaper Bild.
According to the report, chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and general manager Uli Hoeness are scouting for talent to replace Hitzfeld, who won the Champions League with Bayern in 2001 having already lifted the trophy with Borussia Dortmund in 1997.
After Bayern sacked previous coach Felix Magath, Hitzfeld returned in February and won praise for forging a strong unit with eight new players in the first-team following a 69 million euro summer spending spree.
His contract expires next summer and relations between Hitzfeld and Rummenigge became frosty when the coach made several late substitutions in the UEFA Cup draw against Bolton Wanderers in November which led to the English forcing an equalisier.
Since then, league leaders Bayern have struggled for form and have won just two of their last six league games hence enquiries have been made about suitable replacements for Hitzfeld, said Bild.
A German-speaking coach is being sought by Hoeness and Rummenigge with Dutch national coach Marco van Basten and Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard having been linked to the job.

rijkaard no!!
he isn't not a coach. he's a man who is always with the players, seeing how they are training and in games he sits next to bench players and after the match he answers journalists' questions, but nothing else.
all will be nice if we win but if the things are going bad he won't do nothing. maybe he never will be angry with sagnol or any player but he isn't good. barça won CL and two leagues because the players were in top form and in their ages, but please, before mourinho or van basten.

Nothing but a translation of "Bild" speculation.
We are coming up to the winter break. All kinds of stories are going to fly.
If you'd listened to these guys last week, you'd believe Ronaldinho already has a deal to move to Chelsea on January 1st.
But he doesn't.......

You guys think there is internal conflict now? Wait till Riijkard becomes coach...holy hell this club will drown in personal problems.
And if Van Basten becomes coach I'm jumping off the Brooklyn bridge.
I know Uli and co. are more sensible than that.

WTF are you on VB over him? How much has VB achieved over Rikjaard? Ohh yeah, having an incredibly talented NT and failing to impress.... Rikjaard got a CL title at least, I'll have him over Van terrible any day, I don't understand how the fook you want him over Rikjaard to be honest. Anyways, Mourinho could win us many titles and would be a long time coach unless sacked...
Anyways more to footy, the discussion we had about Mourinho a possible coach. Goal showed a part where Mourinho semi-rejects Milan, so we have a HUGE chance to get him, hopefully in the winter before he gets a job. You can't say the chances are slim now? ;) Only if Curley is fired from Barca, I really don't see another club he would interested right now besides the two shown.
