I can't really talk to myself all day. There has got to be some Villa fans around here somewhere. Start posting people!

Have you ever been to the Aston area of Birmingham ?. The only people with computers have them because they ram-raided a computer shop.

Hello to all fellow Villa fans out there, wherever you are. With the big kick-off fast approaching and with all the signings we`re going to make (two:McCann and Sorensen) I`d say we will finish about seventh, with Angel top scorer and Gazza Bazza player of the year. Alpay and Mellberg will be key to our winning either cup. I also think vassel and Hendrie will be playing inside left/right under O`Leary.

Hey Rob!
Welcome, it's nice to see another Villa fan on these boards, hell, tell your friends to stop by as well. All I'm really hoping for this season is that we don't have a repeat of that own goal debacle last season.

Wow. I don't check this board for a couple of days and then a couple of Villa fans show up! Cheers guys... one point from the champions league... and I thought we would have a poor year. I have a feeling the last game against the bastards from Manchester will be big.

Yep we are alive and kicking just needed something to wake us from the sleep induced Taylor years. Finally O'Leary may breath some life into one a team which needs (fingers crossed pry some money out of Ellis arthritic hands maybe thats to much to hope for?)
Still though Villa for fourth by beating Man U last game.

For what it`s worth BBC predictions have us 6th (Liverpool 7th).

Take a look at the last 5 games for the contenders, 6 wins between us out of 25 matches. As the popular phrase at the moment goes: `Champions league? You`re hav`in a larf.`

If thats gonna happen do we qualify for UEFA Cup or miss it by one? Have faith though football is never certain till fat lady I mean Fat Doug sings

We`d miss by one if we finished 6th. I don`t really want us in the UEFA cup anyway. It stacks up too many games at the start of the season. Look at the season Man City and Blackburn have had. You could add Newky and L`pool aswell. Then there`s Leeds from last year. It should be Champions league or nothing until we`ve got a squad that can handle both EPL and Europe.

Agreed, that is if history is any kind of indicator, but I thik we can agree that isn't not always the case.

Now you`re probably changing this as I type but the phrase `that isn`t not always the case` as bamboozled me. I think we agree though.

Does make sense but will Doug strengthen the squad unless he gets the cash fro Champions League in the summer. My opinion we will only strengthen squad and keep J P Angel if we get 4th.

I guess thats what I get for drinking and posting at the same time.
Anyhoo, back on topic (sort of) I would like to think that even if we don't qualify for the CL that some money would be spent to build on a the great season that we were not expected to have.
Where do you guys think we need the most help?

Need another central defender Mellberg is good but needs a good partner. Those legs of Johnsens just wont hold out long enough for another season.
Full backs are fine Samuel, Delaney(no injuries fingers crossed) and Barry for cover if needed (plays best on left though dont get me wrong)
Reackon we can trust the strikers to do there job maybe 10 more Vassel goals would be nice next season. Should be a 20 goal a season man for definate.
Always say this at Villa for the last few seasons we have lack a quality creator in midfield (apart from Merson but he was ending his Premier career at us) Would be nice to have a Lampard, Scholes, Jenas, Dyer, Ronaldinho oh to dream.
Maybe Carrick weres he gone looked quality at West Ham?
Any thoughts
