Maybe Carrick weres he gone looked quality at West Ham?

Any thoughts

Hmmmmm, I've never seen him play so I can't say one way or the other. Is there anyone we could take off one of the sides going down to division 1? Of course they are going down for good reason.

Good thought always difficult to pry players of relegated teams though. Id say Muzzy Izzet but never seems to want to leave Leicester could have better form in top 10 club. Not much from Wolves to be honest.

But if Leeds went down that would be an all you can eat buffet for sides like Villa cause they would have to sell up fast cause of debts and being in Division One. Would nt wish it on any club at all though. Players like McMaster (young lad bit of a Scholes) could be good buy, Mellor, Harte for LB, of course Smith would go to highest bidder as well which wont be Villa.

Other teams possibly if City went down there are a few who would jump ship quick there and the same for Portsmouth Berkovic(spelling?), Reyna at City and Mcmamanananana?

Difficult to say I still think a Midfielder with class would just change the team has to be right person to fit into team though no rocking of the O'Leary boat!!!

Since I'm an American I have a biased opinion of Reyna. That being said I would love to see him playing for Villa. Reyna was the only real option for the US as a creative mid in the past, but with new blood coming onto the scene Captain America has been seeing more time at d-mid. IMHO he would be a good holding mid, which could go either way where creating goals is concerned.

Maybe still would like to see Villa with someone who can slot a pass into Vassel like a Gerrard or Scholes do for there strikers. With Vassel being so fast he can out pace any defender unless they had Owens pace. Vassel in my opinion is and will be a 20 goals a season man if he could get some service and confidence in his game. Then who knows maybe those doubters who never rate Villa will finally take notice and with O'Leary at helm we seem to be playing more attractive football which can only be good.

COME ON THE VILLA!!!

Well I think the Hammer could be a creative midfielder, he reminds me a bit of Scholes in the way he moves around, passes and shoots. He doesn`t make late runs into the penalty area though, but then hasn`t partnered McCann that often, which would help him do that. See if Hitz scores a Scholes-type goal today at Boro.

Well at least you think we`re the best at something, although it would be better if it was playing football or winning matches:).

It reminds of Gerrard Houllier (Liverpool manager) saying they would be top of the league and best team, if it was decided by the number of corners a team were awarded.

Always say this at Villa for the last few seasons we have lack a quality creator in midfield (apart from Merson but he was ending his Premier career at us) Would be nice to have a Lampard, Scholes, Jenas, Dyer, Ronaldinho oh to dream.

Maybe Carrick weres he gone looked quality at West Ham?

Carrick? Abit of a come down from Ronaldinho.

I wouldn`t mind Joe Cole from Chelsea, since he can`t get a game there. Or Murphy of Liverpool who is missed when he doesn`t play for them and is someone they might be prepared to sell for around £2m.

Izzet on a free would be a good player to boost the squad. I`m not sure about overseas players but Van Bommel as been linked with us. It would help if we were playing ECL football.

If we we`re to finish 4th then Euro 2004 might be worth watching, we could attract one or two internationals with the promise of the Champions league.

Have you ever been to the Aston area of Birmingham ?. The only people with computers have them because they ram-raided a computer shop.

Now if that were true, if their only fans were poor, Rover probably would not have sponsored them. Their stadium is on prime real estate near the highway! :)

I`m detecting some sarcasm in this post. Besides most of the people in Aston who follow football support Man Utd and Arsenal, with some honourable exceptions.

None taken, he would be a nice player to have on the squad, but Reyna in the starting 11 I don't think would help that much.

What do u guys think of Gerardo Torrado for Villa? He's a defensive midfielder who plays for Sevilla in Spains first division. Last season he was about to be loaned out to Everton but Sevilla's manager didnt let him go.

http://skysports.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=169176

Torrado, who was linked with a switch to The Premiership during the summer, is furious at what he sees as Sevilla's continual stalling on obtaining him a Spanish passport, though the club insist that the process is well underway.

The mystery Premiership club looking to sign Mexican midfielder Gerardo Torrado can be revealed as Everton.
Planetfootball.com understand that the Merseysiders are looking to bring the Sevilla star to Goodison Park on loan initially, with a view to a €4.5 million transfer....

---

There are also rumors that Deportivo La Coruna want Torrado.

Everton linked with Torrado (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/e/everton/3175037.stm)

Everton are keen to sign Seville and Mexico midfielder Gerardo Torrado on a one-year loan, according to the player's agent.

and finally:

Heres a thread started at the Everton forum posting the news that Everton might get him.

We need another defensive midfielder so he would be worth considering. The problem is we have three players who travel to that part of the world for World cup qualifiers and our manager is reluctant to add to them (Cruz, Angel and Solano). They usually miss the next game due to jet-lag and we don`t have a big enough squad. Mario Yepes of French club Nantes is a more likely signing.
