When Fabio Capello comes in he will make some dramatic changes to the side. Some people will find they are no longer required, and others will find they are going to get their chance such as Agbonlahore, Bentley, Lennon, Milner etc. But I think the biggest question is, who will be captain. I think he will change the captain so who do you think will be the captain, I have looked at who has already been the captain at some point, at then who has been captain for their clubs. This list is what I came up with, who do you think will be captain when Cappelo takes charge of his first game next year. I think it might be David Beckham. Although that depends whether he wants the public to think he is sentimental, if not he may think “everyone is expecting Beckham to be their, im dropping him” who knows what he will do but if he is there for 100 caps he will be captain.

Gary Neville – Been captain of Manchester United since Roy Keane left, bags of experience.

David Beckham – Former captain, took charge of Madrid when subs were made etc, a lot of experience, can implement his system that he played at Madrid as he already knows it.

Michael Owen – Vice captain of England when Sven was in charge, captained the England B, and occasionally Newcastle when subs are made.

Wayne Rooney - Has led out Manchester United a few times now, might go for a young player to make a dramatic change in the side.

Steven Gerrard – May look at what he has done with Liverpool, and how he plays when he is captain of England and Liverpool respectively. Been a super player who leads everyone.

Frank Lampard – been captain of Chelsea, depends on whether he wants to play them together, or drop him for Hargreaves.

John Terry - Will he stick with the Chelsea & current England captain, he is a true leader.

Rio Ferdinand – Been captain of Manchester United, if he wants a new captain and a new captain at the back, he might get the armband.

Major outsiders,

Paul Robinson - Does he want to Goal Keeper to have it, so he can command from the back, and give Robinson confidence, alternatively, this could be any goal keeper we play.

Owen Hargreaves - experience played all over Europe, all if he drops Hargreaves for Barry will he go with the Villa captain.

John Terry will probably remain England captain. Capello knows which players need a wake-up call and JT is definitely not one of them, I'd be shocked if he stripped him of the capitaincy.

Terry will almost certainly be stripped of the captaincy.

I'll be amazed if he doesn't choose Gerrard.

Nah, it'll be Lampard.

Fat Fran isn't even the captain at Chelsea. Would be weird if he chose him over someone like Gerrard, especially seeing how well Stevie is playing this season. Also, I don't even think Fat Fran will even be in the first 11.

I think he will do the Italian/Spanish thing and do it according to seniority.

So whoever happens to have more caps.

Capello will instill his changes. Almost a guarantee that the Captaincy will change.

He's going to be most comfortable in picking fairly continental player, in terms of style, and will likely want to stamp an immediate name on the team (from a political stance) to distance himself from any comparisons with his predecessors.

He dropped Beckham and dumped Ronaldo from Real for politics (I'm not saying that their wavering form didn't warrant his decisions, nor that it did), and he's a manager with a very keen sense of maneuvering in the framework of the system already provided.

My money would be on Steven Gerrard getting the armband.

If Owen can get properly fit then he has earned the right, just for the hattrick alone, nevermind the rest, the only other deserving candidate is Wazza, he'd wear the armband to bed, ********ing looney tune.

Err, how exactly is Gerrard a 'continental' player? Not saying he's a bad player or that he shouldn't get the captaincy, I've just never heard him or his style described as continental.

Owen and Fat frank do not deserve a selection to the starting XI let alone the arm band. Rooney as captain of England? Fat boy can't keep his temper in check. John Terry has not been the same John Terry of the past. I say it has to be Gerrard by default. Let's be truthful none of these pillocks deserve the arm band the way they have played as of late.

Should've been Stevie G in the first place. Hopefully Capello has enough sense to right that mistake.
