HT: Olympiakos 1 - 0 Werder Bremen
according to uefa match statistics bremen have 62% ball possession and a total of 9 shots (4 on target). Olympiakos having a total of 5 (2 on target).
There is still hope for Bremen to win this game, so i hope the team make a come back in the second half and do their best. Thomas Schaaf should also be making a couple of substitutions, maybe Almeida for Rosenberg.

Bremen make a substitution: Tosic on for Baumann.
I would have actually liked to see Tosic start... but anyway...

On hands of our team you can see how weak the Bundesliga really is. A greek side that never managed to win an away-game, wins it against us and completes the humiliation with a well-deserved 3:0 at home.
Pathetic...

Pretty disappointing performance (Naldo's header a few minutes after the interval was your only good scoring opportunity) in this decisive game, it seems that your team is very inconsistent this season.
To be honest, I had rather expected Werder to pass the group stage than Schalke...

well this is extremely depressing.....we ********ING SUCK in Europe this year.....this is no reflection on the league tho Miran...its a reflection of our inconsistancy!! we own the league for a string of games and then randomly break down and lose to teams we should beat!
whatever, hopefully we will have better luck in the Uefa cup

What´s going on with you people?
You know we usually suck away in Europe.
We only had 2 away wins in 3 years of CL.
Now we have what we want, going for UEFA,
kicking ************ Munich out of the competition
and win the dawn thing.
100% Werder

I've become so used to our team's fragile defence against teams that play counter-attacking football that I actually anticipated a result like this
everyone knows Olympiakos are a team that rely on counter-attack in Europe and they are in terrific form this season. Furthermore they have home advantage. Last match against Hannover was a good rehearsal for us. 4 goals against us was a very clear indication to our vulnerability and I really hoped we can make improvements.
Obviously we didn't and again the defence let us down (schaaf needs to be blamed as well). Even Rosenberg lamented about it, calling the goals 'ridiculous'
Sure, the UEFA Cup is a condolence but I'm sure many people actually wanted to see Bremen progress to the Round of 16 and challenge the other big guns. Being dispatched this early and in such an (I think) easy way does not help the reputation of the BL and German football.
This is not about inconsistency and not because of our injury problems, or otherwise we wouldn't have reached no.2 in BL. It's more likely because of our style of playing: our all-attack, flat-backline tactic puts us under perilous situations in Europe. We can't play such a risky game on the European stage. If we keep on doing so, I won't be surprised if we get another immature exit from the UEFA Cup (since many teams there play like Olympiakos), let alone kicking Bayern's a$$ and winning the cup.

I don’t think you can just get over this like that.
This is a major failure. Werder have not improved in in 5 years . shaaf doesn’t seem to be learning anything. He was never even close to those unimpressive magath-bayern . and last year when Bayern weren’t up there they still couldn’t win it.
I think it’s time for werder to stop kidding themselves that everything is great. You haven’t won the league and you haven’t reached the qurters of the cl in the last 3 years.
With the players you have and the football you are able to play , that’s a failure.
