A Paysandu fan to liven up the Brasileirão 2003 threads. :D

By a show of hands, who also though that PAPÃO was going to own La Bombonera the way it did on Thursday? If you guys want to see a great soccer match, watch the next game in Belém. The Mangueirão stadium is going to be busting at the seams.

Luckly, Paysandu is also playing São Paulo this sunday, so Rede Globo decided to air the game on Globo Internacional.

Guess what I'm going to be doing on Sunday afternoon? ;)

That's what made it taste so sweet... we were the only ones thinking Paysandu was going to win. :D

Any time a brazilian team goes to Buenos Aires and put the smack down on a Porteno club, it makes my day. Especially Papao! The strength of the Brazilian league is showing this year. Look how well they are performing in the Libertadores, but how difficult it is to win in the league. For example Santos, Gremio, Corinthians, and Paysandu have struggled a little in the league but are playing well in the Libertadores. It is the opposite for the Argentine teams, except for maybe Racing. Brazilian league is the strongest in Sudamerica!

HAHAHAHAHA..... sorry, I couldn't get to the PC any earlier. :D

I watched the game over at a friend's house and the (soccer) party went on until late at night.

Have you guys noticed that Paysandu has beaten most of the "saints" from down south?

We beat santos (saints) 2x1
We beat são paulo (saint paul) 5x2
Next comes são caetano (saint caetano) <-- anyone care to take a guess on the score? ;)

Of the 4 games against teams from São Paulo state, we beat 2 (Santos and São Paulo), got spanked by one (Corinthians) and tied 4x4 with another one (Ponte Preta). If I'm not mistaken, São Caetano is the only one left to play from that state.

As São Paulo's coach said after the game "Paysandu is in a state of grace"... so are the fans!

After so many games in such a short timespan, "we" finally get to rest for a whole week before another game on Sunday against São Caetano on Brasileirão 2003.

I'm sure the players will enjoy the time to heal sore muscles and rest a bit.

GO PAPÃO!!!

Paysandu is going UP UP UP in the IFFH World rankings. The Greatest team in the northern region of Brazil is now in the 58 position in the rankings.

We are doing a LOT better in the Brasileirão this year. We haven't been in last place (last year we spent most of the tournament in last), and this year we are actualy aiming at the top 8.

I say we can do it.

I agree with you Psikoh. I think that with those players and this coach we can be at the top 8 and classify to South American Cup.

Some News: Probably, Aldrovani will play against Guarani on Sunday in Mangueirão. He has already regularized his papers to play and is set for debut. Ivo Wortman(The coach) likes his game style and covered him with pleasures. "He is a very good and dedicated player. I'm quite sure that he will become an symbol to the adepts of the club." He said. Junior Amorim and Borges Neto are set to debut too, but by the way the things are going, they will have to wait to play. Wortman probably will go to the match just with Aldrovani. André Dias and Rogerinho are suspended by the third yellow card, so they don't play this match.

Probably Squad for Sunday: Ronaldo, Luis Fernando, Jorginho, Lima and Wellington, Vanderson, Jairo, Magnum and Welber, Zé Augusto and Aldrovani

If you wanna hear the game. Access: www.oliberal.com.br at 4:00pm

C Ya! ;D

Yep... 6x1 against Guarani. Nice game for the veteran Jobson. My former P.E. teacher was his indoor soccer coach when was just starting. He was the one who told Jobson to try out for field soccer. I'm glad he did.

Paysandu has a good squad, no superstars but a lot of highly skilled players. It seems now we are being able to translate those skills into a more stable winning team.

We are (as of 08/03/2003) 8w - 6t - 9l for the season with 41 goals scored and a goal differential of +1.

12th place overall.

Go PAPÃO!!!!

As I promised to you, I'm posting the new uniform of Paysandu!

This is Magnum when he scored the first goal, on Sunday(Paysandu beated Guarani 6x1)

Gourgeous victory of Papao against Guarani! All players, except Welber and Wellington, had a perfect presetation! Jobson found his nice soccer, leading the victory and scoring three times. Sandro backing from lesion, scored with a nice shot in the top of the area. Zé Augusto had some nice headshots and incredible passes. Magnum runned all the field, appearing at the right moment, was gifted with a goal. And Borges Neto, that was playing his first game for Paysandu, scored with a nice pass from Zé Augusto! Perfect Match! Congratulations Papão!
