If you are like me and you enjoy being an know-it and a swot

OR

you fancy yourself to be the walking version of the Manchester United Opus

Then stick all your questions here and hope that everyone spectaculary fails to get the answer...:D

Rules---->>

Answer the question I have asked and ONLY after it has been answered correctly does someone else stick a question here. Therefore rather than having hundreds of questions you are all fighting each other to answer one question at a time. The first person with the right answer can then stick a question here...therefore getting a reward for being the first to get it right and post it first.

I start with a question-

1) who was the first player to score a hat-trick for the club?

and errr go...

Are we including Newton Heath?

Are we including pre-football league Newton Heath? Edit: If so, well, I'd be more than impressed if anyone knew. Not even sure you could look that one up.

Are you allowed to have mulitiple guesses??

If so, I would pick either Billy Meredith or John Picken.

Yes you can and it is before Billy's playing days at United-Pre 1900 if that gives a clue.

As far as I know, the first and second hat tricks were scored on the same day. Not sure if that's right, or if it is, who completed their's first.

William Stewart?

It was Robert Donaldson who was also the first player to score a goal for NH in the football league which was against Blackburn Rovers (NH lost 4-3) on 3 September 1892 and he later transfered to Luton. It was on the 10th October 1892 in a 10-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. It was one of three hat-tricks he scored.

Although William Stewart is also credited with a hat-trick in the same game so good guess there RoM. I think as I cannot find the timings of the goals that you might as well stick a question because you are half-right I think.

Who played for Manchester United one week, Manchester City the next, and not a penny changed hands in transfer fees? It wasn't Dennis Law.

Which manchester City player scored more times at Old Trafford than he ever did at Maine Road? Again, it wasn't Dennis Law.

I've got to think of a question? Alright, give me a bit to devise something fiendish.

No - they are trick questions really. The answer to the first one is The Beswick Prize Band - they used to play on alternate weeks at Old Trafford and then Maine Road entertaining the fgans before the game started. The answer to question two is jack Dyson who played for manchester City from 1954 -59. He was also a cricketer who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club who play at the "other" Old Trafford and he scored more runs there than he did goals at Maine Road.

Sorry, I was feeling a little cheeky earlier.:):):)

Nah, I'll just come up with warm up questions while you think of a proper one.

Whats is Fergie's middle name?

Name our last 5 official/proper captains?

Name the last 7 people to wear the number 7 shirt?

Mind Boggler: IF Fergie joined here on the 6th November 1985 and today is the 12th December 2007, how many days exactly has Fergie been here??

NOTE: I don't kno the answers to all the questions, I'm just putting them out there to see if anyone else does..:p

Erm, in 1966/67, David Herd scored 4 goals in a match. What was unusual about his 4 goal haul?

On the 26th November 1966 against Sunderland, David Herd scored past 3 different goalkeepers to win the game 5-0. ??
