A cold December night in a crowded bar in the city of New York was the location. Everyone knows Nevada Smiths is a New York Hot spot for soccer supporters. A great place for a meet? Not so much on this night. Tonight the showcase was a boxing match!

The Boys meet highlighted by QueensNick, Southaw, Kubah and other interested parties. Immediately there was a great click and lots of enthusiastic talk about NYCFC. While the night was more formal and we talked about many different topics, it was great to meet face to face and share our excitement for this club.

Ideas were thrown and we recruited some new people who when we told them what our plans were, seemed to respect our movement. One person even said that "IT MAKES SENSE TO PUT A TEAM THERE".

I know there are trolls wondering how our meet failed so I have to add this tidbit of information in. I ran into a guy wearing an England Jersey, he was from New Jersey. We started to talk and I told him of the Borough Boys. He thought it was a great idea and said he would root for them no Problem. I told him that "The Red Bulls aren't New York" and he was in full agreement.

It was still small scale but as I announced, in 2008 Meets will be more and we will be getting our name out there more at USL and PDL matches. At youth tournaments and other events around the area.

Overall it was a great meet with lots of laugh and even some excitement. The Borough Boys announced their presence to Nevada Smiths last night in what most likely will be the last meet up at that establishment!!

From Kubahs blog:

"I have to say Borough Boys architects, QueensNick (Nick) and Southpaw (Paul) are two crazy New Yorkers. As if spearheading the charge for a New York City FC was not lunacy enough, they also led the pro-American chants for Mayweather while surrounded by over a hundred Englishmen."

Hahahaha,I was rooting for Hatton until those c*nts told us to shut the F up after our national anthem, thats a no no.

I got a couple of hits for this post, but since the URL changed due to the web hosting transfer I just wanted to update it.

This is the link of the Borough Boys last meeting at Nevada's with pics (http://www.newyorkcityfc.net/2007/12/09/the-borough-boys-take-over-nevadas/).
