once loew steps down after world cup 2010 after germany's victory in em 08 and wm 10  how many would like to see tomas take over. I think he would be a natural replacement for the national team. A coach who places emphasis on playing attacking football just like we've been doing since 05. What do you guys think. Yes? No? if no, who would you rather have as the coach.

I think maybe he is more useful as a club coach, as he can develop individual players better than other coaches when able to work with them week in week out.

Probably wouldn't be a bad choice, though.

good idea. If there is one thing missing with the german national team, it's someone who likes to hoof the ball upfield at first sign of danger. I think under loew, we don't run around like headless chicken enough. Obviously this means we do not have enough "pride and passion for the shirt". Having a english coach will take care of this problem. Kill two birds with one stone.

Another important aspect, I don't think we have 'world class' players in our rank. By employing a coach who has had the pleasure of working with world class players such as lamps, becks, stevie g, rio, jt, g. neville, maybe their 'world class' talent will rub off on our team full of average players. Don't get me wrong, in no way am I saying that our players will ever get to the level of such 'world class' players, that is beyond our dream, but surely our players can benefit by having such players as role model. :D

Interesting theory.. It could work, young coaches sometimes have a tremendous good impact when they begin on the NT like Klinsi's or Croatia coach, Bilic I believe his name is.

Yea, Bilic has done well, but I meant that in jest of course. I think if you have a team that is doing well, going for a young coach may not be the best idea, but Schneider I think has the mental ability to be a fantastic manager one day.

Well, if he is a Klinsmann II, I'd take him any day after Loew. However, he could be a completely disaster! :p

Personally I think that Klinsmann's impact was more in reshaping the team and changing the system. Loew is the one responsible for the tactics and play-style of the team.

I agree. And even though I'd take Schneider or a suitable German coach first, Bilic is very Klinsmann-esque.

In an interview I saw with him, he said pretty much what sums up Klinsi's philosophy, emphasis on youth and a positive environment and atmosphere for the players above anything else.

Which is great for Croatia and Germany, considering the fantastic youth thats coming up for both nations.

Eduardo, Modric, Corluka, Petric, etc. form a nice young nucleus. And with Srna, Olic, Pletikosa and their center defenders, not named Simunic, they have good experience as well.

Shockingly like Germany, no? :D A little less ability...but certainly better than "superpower" England :D

If Schalke could get a another great ST that could compliment Kuranyi well, they could a hell of a team to play with. Add the 2 german/crotian young guns who have incredible talent, good future for them. Add 2 more years when those 2 develop well, and Schalke could do some damage in CL IMO (not win obviously, but go far).
