No explanation to the Estudiantes fans that chanted his name and asked him to stay at tonite's last game of the season for el Pincha. A bit more respect was expected from Cholo to the tri-champs of the Libertadores ... only weeks away from returning to the maximum competition in the continent.

The 4 new signings he asked were not realistic of Estudiantes' economy. Now he is closer to River ...

Cholo is a big a$shole

The way he tried to leave Estudiantes and blame it on the dirigentes was a jerk. If it wasn't for Estudiantes he would be a nobody and now out of nowhere he just leaves

I serious believe that if he goes to River, it won't be good news for them. He's not that good of a coach and his time at River will be more like his time at Racing, not Estudiantes, IMO

Yeah I agree with you on this one bosterosoy. I'm not too fond of him as well. I also agree that he's overrated. Then again, the way River is playing right now:o, maybe they need his personality too inject some life into them.

No me causó ninguna gracia

Pablo Alvarez salió a cruzarlo muy duro a Simeone: "Me negaba una venta porque decía que los contratos había que respetarlos y ahora se caga en todo eso".

Was able to listen to the interview ... Pablito was harsh with el Cholo. The written words don't give merit to his tone of voice.

Later tonite, Calderon didn't attack Simeone directly ... but was clear to say he would stay at Arsenal, despite the offers, because he was a man of word and that respcts his contracts. "In life there are people who act in white and others who act in black" ...

I think Cholo did an excellent job at Estudiantes. The way they came back to win the title, that was unreal. He probably is a very good coach, he might be good for River.

But yeah, the way he left Estudiantes, it appears that he is acting like an asshole.

True, his campaign that year was impressive. But, something I have always concluded is that in many of those games that led to the extra game with Boca, Estudiantes was actually winning them in the dying minutes, playing with 4 forwards and sometimes with 2 defenders.

In this sense, I think that worked because at Estudiantes no one would "kill" him if instead of turning around a score, his team ended "goleado". The "dream" of a title for the Pinchas allowed to all those risks. But the most centered analysis would say that his team wasn't able to impose itself under normal circumstances.

It was a campaign which Estudiantes was meant to win ... yet he couldn't repeat it in the next 2 tournaments.

IMO, he is yet to demonstrate what he is made of ...

Pablo Alvarez said on TV that Simeone didn't give a good example to the younger players on the contract issue, yes what Simeone did is quite bad. I don't know if the singings that he asked were unrealistic for Estudiantes, after all he didn't even wait he left right after the last match finished nor the managment didn't give an answer about it.

The top management at Estudiantes made a public announcement in regards to Simeone's unilateral decision. Point #3 is pretty clear, as to their position.

This announcement forced Simeone's sister (is his accountant as well) to cancel today's appointment with River's Treasury Secretary until next Thursday.

Technically, Estudiantes will look for $$ from Cholo. Some have mentioned that it could be up to US$500,000.

The blame of all this bull%% goes to one man and his name is José María Aguilar. River Plate needs to get rid of him first before anything. I wouldn't really count on Simeone until they fix the management.

You could say that it's unethical to look for coaches that have a job, but then it was up to Simeone to leave or stay at Estudiantes. So i wouldn't throw all the blame on Aguilar, at least this time.
