It's all in good fun, but it does render some of these polls completely useless.
That's the point. Internet polls are completely useless.
Geenstijl.nl has managed to sabotage countless other polls. The most epic one forcing doritos to name its new flavour geenstijl.

there are about 2.3 million turks that live in germany and over 200,000 turks in switzerland, so there wont be any shortage of turkish fans at the EURO

I also think Croats are going to be louder and better fans than anyone else on the EURO. Simply because when it comes to NT we have crazy and most important, united fans that are real fanatics. I just hope the hooligans don't ruin it. I've heard of polish hooligans who are threatening and showing off but i honestly hope there won't be any bloodshed on EURO 2008.

I always find it odd (correct me if I'm wrong) that the cultures known for their flamboyancy (Italy, Spain, etc.) seem to be those with the least extravagant fans (in international matches in any case) and the cultures known for their level headedness (Holland, Germany, etc) seem to be those that are the most extravagant during games.
This is obviously a generalization to which there are exceptions and I could be in the ballpark here, but it's the impression that I get and I find it interesting and debatable.

Interesting observation.

I wouldn't say France in spite of my nationality. There are real good fans along with the clubs in France (Saint Etienne, Lens, Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Nice, etc.) but when it comes to the national team it's not the same.
I think we are not so good on nationalism.
Well, i voted Turkey.

Well, i voted Turkey.
I agree.
I watched a warm up game in Bielefield, the Turkish fans were going crazy and the game hadn't even begun.
Then I watched a couple of German warm ups with my German friend. I asked him where the "crazies" who are behind the goal were. He told me that only happens in club football and the national team is more of a family affair.
Funny because in most atmospheres, the side that tends to go crazy is the one behind the goal, while the sides are more family oriented. With those Turks, the entire stadium was going wild.

Likewise, I have to agree.
The Turkish fans are awesome. Part of the reason why I like Galatasaray so much is the fact that I've known a few of their fans and the fact that the fans as a whole are so passionate. I know they keep up the passion for their national team, too. I hope their team does well in the Euros.

It is definitely true though. The Dutch are very reserved in public, the only time they let their hair down is when supporting their NT.

If you ask most England fans they will tell you the atmosphere at games is terrible. I went to see a qualifying match against Estonia and it was dead silent, it was a very strange experience. People next to me talked on their mobile phones throughout only to stop everytime Rooney came close so they could take a picture.
This is exactly what the FA want, a family based support where everyone sits quietly and makes a bee line to the souvenier shops.
You dont get that in a lot of other countries, England away games are poor compared to the past, the only ones who can get tickets are in the 'England family'. Those who create the noise at england away games are those who have travelled without tickets, also there are over 3,000+ banning orders for English fans these 'hardcore' support love them or hate them do tend to be the ones who create the atmosphere.
Plus the ticket prices are so high it prices the working class fans out of the game.
Crazy really because just a few miles north you have Scotland who create an amazing atmosphere at Hampden.
I think this is why a lot of fans dont really care about the national side they feel its no longer their game, and are more interested in going to watch their club than national side.
England fans could still be up there with the best if they were allowed to.
As far as euro 2008 is concerned, the Croatians I think will be awesome, I also like sweden, turkey will be good too.
I can't wait loads of footy without the stress of watching England fail again.
C'mon Spain!!!!!!
