I know right? jaja. I'll save my predictions until a few days before the games. Especially against Panama.

Great to see we got a new theard. Although i wouldn't mind seeing the title of the thread changed to something different. Maybe a "rebuilding" thread, or a "football, news & info" title. Anything really.

El Salvador pone proa al 2010
Selección comienza preparación

EFE

Out of the 20, i'm super glad that Herberth Sosa del Chalatenango; y los panteras William Maldonado, Diego Chavarría, Fabricio Alfaro, Xavier García y Juan Carlos Alas, have been called up. Now we just need Andres Flores.

Whatever happened to Mauricio Castaneda, the kid was playing with Lanus in Argentina, and he was promised a spot in the A team, last year! WHERED HE GO!?!?!?!

EDIT. He had trouble finding a spot, went to River with Andres and Alas lil bro, and finally ended up at 11 municipal. :(

I hope quintanilla joins either a costa rican club or MSl either would boost his skill level.
If alas was to leave el salvador where would he go? MSL, mexico .. europe (like sweden or belguim)
Finally martin and juan jose gomez of firpo should be playing outside of el salvador...

I think with the conections that Alas made after the Gold Cup up in the States, i wouldn't be surprised to see him go to an MLS side. Especially after the somewhat strong season he had this past year with San Salvador. I think he might be willing to take an USL1 contract but more than likely if he doesn't sign with an MLS side he will just join another Salvadoran side. He really hasn't shown anything special to recieve offers from Europe, not even in the lower league. Maybe if you could play better in international games then he "might" get a look at but even then it's still doubtful.

To me Martin is a good player, but not that great that you would say he is a mile above the rest. But he's still young, i think if he can continue his good form, then in a couple of years i wouldn't be surprised to see him move abroad.

And Juanjo, well we all know his story. His problem is he is to injury prone. I mean thats what stopped him from going to China a few years back. And know again, in the Gold Cup. But he is still kinda young, so maybe if he can keep putting playing like he did last week when he won Firpo the game v Chalate then he too could play outside of ES. But for him to go right now, i doubt it.

Why doesn't El Salvador have anyone playing abroad? You have a population of 7 million and are a soccer mad country, but other Central American nations are improving while El Salvador doesn't seem to be. FA problems? Poor youth development? Where is the next Magico?
