Not too sure why we're organising friendlies before we've appointed a new coach, but there you go.
"The FA can confirm that England will play Switzerland in a friendly at Wembley on Wednesday 6 February next year. The kick-off time and ticket details will be confirmed in due course."

Could be a good game.

It's because the new boss will need all the games to prepare for Euro 2008.
Oh wait...

Maybe this game was in the pipeline even before mcClown got sacked.
I guess they had some kind of agreement with the swiss.
If there is any luck Mourinho or Capello will be appointed by the time the game rolls around.

I just booked my trip to England for that game :)
will be my 1st game at any of the Wembleys. So far I've been lucky enough to be at 9 England games.
Switzerland v England @ Berne
Austria v England @ Vienna
England v Azerbaijan @ Newcastle
England v Austria @ Manchester
England v Poland @ Manchester
England v Argentina @ Geneva
England v Uruguay @ Liverpool
England v Hungary @ Manchester
England v Jamaica @ Manchester
Now I really hope Becks will get his 100th Cap, aswell being Captain for this occascion and Fabio Capello's 1st game in charge. Only a Becks goal would top all that... that would be a nice send off and closure.

Becks will definitely get his 100th cap and Cappelo will make him Captain for the Swiss game.
But i will be very surprised if you will see any of the so called big names such as Rooney,Owen,Ferdinand. I think you will see a completely fresh team. Your probably thinking this blokes barmey , but you wait and see.

Actually I think only Ferdinand and Rooney can be as close as it gets of having a certain place in the team and long term future atm...
anyway aslong as Becks plays in that particular game I'll go home happy.
Generally I think Capello will do a lot of good things for England - ie rule with the iron fist... it worked for the circus that was Real Madrid....

Uncapped players (Agbonlahor, Young, Hart) all have a decent chance to get called up for the 1st time.
Some might get the chance on a recall (James, Green, Butt) others (Bentley) a good chance to play or even start.

If Agbonlahor doesn't get off the mark against Switzerland in a friendly, the world may as well end that night. He's thoroughly deserved recognition this season.
I think he should go with a "bit too old for the U-21s or just too good for them" team against Switzerland. And deny Becks his 100th cap. He's too old. We're building for 2010. No place for sentimentality.
Maybe if he hadn't got himself sent off a couple of times he would have had his 100 by now.

70k sold already - FA expect a sell-out 85k-90k, Wednesday evening, early February (our worst month) - fcukin meaningless friendly against who? Switzerwho?
We are fcukin loopy - the wheels still turning, but the hamster has gone................
And yes, I have a ticket..........:(

It's Capello's first game in charge and there's still some novelty value attached to the stadium.
Of course it's going to sell out.

Capello's 1st game / New Era
Becks possible 100th Cap
some reduced tickets prices
I think it will depend also a bit on how Capello's Call up will look like (lots of new players or basically same "old" underperformers).
Last I heard he's gonna name the Squad on 31st January.

Looking forward to it..I don't believe it will be a weakened team as some suggest as surely they (the players) all wish to impress to Capello and therefore it is very important to be picked.

It doesn't make sense, period.............
Wednesday night in the middle of winter and 70k of us numpties have bought tickets to see a match which means fcuk all - bear in mind these tickets have been sold to the members, not those with the curiosity factor of wanting to see the stadium - we've all been before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Capello, Crapello, whoever - who wants to see Poshbollox get his obligatory 100th cap, what is the point of this man playing, when he will be way over the hill (if he aint already) when they put their boots on in anger again, which is not against Swazilund...:(
And just who else will play? Who will take a sick note?
Been watching Spuds v Arse - couldn't agree more with the comment that Jermain Jenas has so much pace and ability, it's a shame he doesn't use it more, especially for England!
