Germany lands in Group B with Croatia, Austria, and Poland. Historically ironic to be sure, but aside from Austria, the Group is not a walk-over for the Germans. They will have to play hard and with the style of the 2006 World Cup to be assured to advance. Croatia just defeated England; Germany scraped-out a golden goal win (Odonkor to Neuville) against Poland 1-0 in the 2006 World Cup group stage. Perhaps the sites and sounds of the combined hosts of Austria and Switzterland (except for any games in Geneva) will make the Germans feel as though they are at a home pitch!

I don't feel happy about this group
I don't want to see any of the four teams to bow out of the competition so early. I have a bad feeling that this group would turn out to be a major, MAJOR upset.

If we can't get out of this group, we really don't deserve to go any further.
I feel a bit sorry for Austria, but I guess they would struggle in any other group as well at the moment.

That's true. We should pass, no excuses.

You surely would have preferred to see us in group C, I'm right? :-)
