I think Turkey still has it in their memory that Portugal beat them 2-0 last time during Euro 2000 so I would predict Turkey will come out very strong and passionate against Portugal this Saturday. Turkey will give everything they have and I think Turkey will tie Portugal at the end. They will beat Switzerland and tie the Czech Republic and make it out..

Who cares about what happened 8 years ago or 12? (we beat Turkey in Euro 96 as well).
This is a more balanced grp than ppl realize, first match is very important for everyone (most say it's key to a good tournament) & I expect Turkey to be a tough opponent. I say we win 1-0 header from Pepe. ;)

you all should put your money where your mouth is (figuratively... since there's no money involved) and join the prediction league.

I can hardly wait for the first match and watch two extremely skilled teams mesmerize us. yes, I am expecting a great start to quality soccer at the Turkey/Portugal game. Either one has a chance to win--Portugal blessed with a few more stars but Turkey will play a more motivated team game. Short passes in tight quarters kept close to the ground will be the theme of this match. Enjoy. I give a slight edge to Turkey.:)

No they wont. The only match that they can potentially play against one another is the final.

turkey will make it out of their group
Everyone has their opinion. I think Turkey is done in the group stages.
If Turkey can draw or beat Portugal, they will advance to the next round for sure. Portugal is going to have some trouble scoring, so Turkey's chances aren't that bad at all. Is Volkan the starting Gk? He's very good too.

I think the Czechs will give Turkey a harder time than Portugal. The Turks give nothing on talent and skill to the Portugeese and they will bring their top game to the festivities.
They will be one of the most fun teams to watch. When it is over, you will not only know of Nihat and Hamit but Arda, and Karadeniz also. It seems like they are recovering from their injuries at the knick of time and will be ready to take on Portugal this Saturday.:):):)

turkey is having a little trouble in deffence all over. they have one decent deffender the rest are crap. and their best deffende Gokhan Gunul(considered to be the new cafu) is injured
volkand demirel is starting GK but he makes alot of mistakes, he is a big clown
