I know I should have started this earlier but it's better late than never

okay so far we have:

In

Ivan Campo - Defensive Midfielder, Bosman from Real Madrid

Florent Laville - Centreback, £500,000 from Lyon

Stelios Giannakopolous - Left Midfield, Bosman from Olympiakos

Kevin Davies - Striker, free agent.

Out

Paul Warhurst
Colin Hendry
Stig Tofting
Liam Richardson

We Rejected Them

Tomasz Klos, Polish Right back
Rene Bolf, Czech centre back
Ibrahim Said, Egyptian Centre back

They rejected us

Edmilson - Lyon
Roque junior - AC Milan
Mido - Ajax (now Marseille)
Dennis Bergkamp - Arsenal
Rhys Evans - Chelsea (now Swindon !!??)
Phillipe Christanval - Barca (now Marseille)

Maybe, possibly

Gonzalo Sorondo - Goalkeeper at Inter

A little bit on the interest in Jardel, I don't think he'll come to Bolton though.

Defender Unai Vergara from Villareal is being linked with the club. Apparently he will join a training camp in Malta

Also Fouseni Diawara (defender) and Ibrahim Ba (midfielder) are having trials.

Maybe I'm imagining but I thought I read where N'Gotty was going to slide over to center and a youngster was going to take his outside spot.

Young Nicky Hunt (Pointless info: We went to the same primary school and I was in the same year as his sister) is a promising right back but Ngotty has not performed too well when he's been at centre back, he gets caught out too often. I'd much prefer to bring someone in at CB and keep Hunt as the second choice Right back.

So far it looks like we're trialing centre backs and rejecting them almost as fast as we're bringing them in.

Planetfootball.com link us with Lyon winger Tony Vairelles.

Clearly the only question of importance here USKiwi... all this talk of RB and CB who cares unless dude's sister is fit right :-)

Tony Vairelles wage demands are hampering the deal apparenlty, it also says he's a striker(?)

Fousseni Diawara is due to play in tonight's friendly with Real Mallorca.

Is he a bird?
Is he a plane?

No!!

He's a midfielder.

No to Diawara. He played central defence against Mallorca.

Prenn,
One day Sam will be revered as the innovator of the 0-10-0 which will make the 4-4-2 look like a schoolyard kick around and you've gone on record as a doubter.

I'm a traditionalist. Personally I'd play the WM formation, not of this modern 4-4-2 bollocks ;)

Whoohoo! Sam got his man, Jardel!

Finally we can count on some goals this season. Thank god.

Great news :D

I wonder if Pedersen will be hanging around? The way I see it is that Davies is our back-up striker and I'd expect Facey and Walters to be challenging for a first team place later in the season.

As of 19/8/03:

We're expected to sign Ibrahim Ba by next week.

Were expected to sign Sunderland defender Emmerson Thome by next week.

Big Sam has catagorically denied that he's currently in Italy to make a move for Milan defender Roque Junior, I look forward to seeing him in a Bolton shirt in just over a week ;)
