Boy, good thing I stopped dragging my feet! Finchley Road FC is back as Hampstead Hackers after our ground change across town.

Anyone have thoughts as to contest formats, we have more than 100 teams so the combinations are endless.
Once the season begins and the league is "locked" we'll have a better idea of actual numbers. I am thinking a group style champs league to begin with, with a knockout tournament to follow. The group thing may take a while with so many teams. I am hoping we can get to 128, mathematically easier.

I've locked the league, so that we can use the forum, but people can still join by using the password.

No problem, I don't plan to start any contests immediately. Give everyone a couple of weeks to get settled and then we'll come up with a format. Post suggestions here.

Is Dazza around?
Thats a lovely thought my friend, but i've yet to see any evidence that you can actually do it.

Well, I almost didn't make it, but "The Pub Crawlers" are back to compete in the Bigsoccer EPL competition! I'm looking forward to struggling to keep my head up in this competitive division - but it's been fun before so I'm back for more punishment! :)

I'll probably start a new thread to announce weekly winners in this league.
Give me a week or two to get organized and we'll start a contest soon. I am thinking a straight knockout tournament to get us started. We have so many teams it is almost unwieldy.

Week 1 winner was Arsenal Heroes with 78 points, second Blueberries FC with 73 and third was Taren Terminators with 72.
Arsenal Heroes has already relinquished the top spot with a number of transfers.
We have 151 teams in our league and I am going to work on a contest format to start in week 3.

Could be a local derby.... and maybe some match fixing.
We'll need a good ref for this one.
