Scholes has already been asked to return about 2 or 3 times.

While he would only be 35 during the 2010 tournament and, at least at this point, an obvious improvement there is little chance of it happening and England would be better looking to the future rather than the past.

Why not use him one last time. Zidane guided France to reach WC Final last year with some impressive displays and he was 34 (35?). If he is fit, why not?

Other than Gerrard England do not have any real strong midfield players & it would be nice to see Paul come back but I think being in the national side is behind him now. He's not the least bit interested & I cant say I blame him but he's still one of the best English players in the game as far as I'm concerned.
