If he would take the job - yes. Otherwise Capello would be the best realistic option. The FA should hurry the fuk up and appoint someone already, before they lose interest and get a job elsewhere.

A group of blind senseless clueless squirrels have stumbled upon the best acorn in the forrest, will they grab it?

Hell yeah I'd like to see him get the job.... Tactical genius, commands respect, good motivator, and gets results... Sinner made a good point in one of the threads in here. He said that the players will run through brick walls for him...

He is an excellent club manager but I think he would do even better as national team manager. His persona, attitude and the sheer drive he has to win is something any team would want but a team such as England who has lost direction and leadership so desperatly needs.

Another thing that Mourinho has which no other avaliable coach has is an understanding of what it is to be hated by the media. It is worse being the England manager but he has thick enough skin not to be effected by it

I'm uncertain. We all know the kind of football he had Chelsea playing, and it was catagorized as boring. Would the England fan put up with boring football? And would that style transfer well to the national team?

Well first it was mostly media crap, secondly Jose's CFC over 3 years only scored 2 goals less than ManU and 13 less than Arse while setting records defensivly.

And winning is what will please England supporters most I believe

Yes.

He's got enough clout and presence to handle such an egotistical team.

He'll be able to pick a propper match day squad because he has huge BALLS.

He wont be told what to do.

He has experience winning and he knows the English game and players.

How many reasons really need to be said before this thing happens?

These days in major tournaments most games late in the tournaments lack style since stakes are so high teams tend to be risk averse and especially against evenly match teams the loser is usually the team that blinks first. The excitement of the game usually comes for the high stakes rather than attacking football.

Jose would bring something that England has seemed to lack for quite sometime. Confidence. He's supremely confident in his abilities (some might even call it cockiness  )and that is sure to rub off on a group of players that have always struck me as a bit fearful once they are on the pitch.

That is a good point.
Really I think if England is going to play better than they have in the last few years, they're also going to be playing more 'pretty' football. Just my opinion but they've seemed so disjointed. Even if Mourinho had them in a somewhat 'boring' and overly defensive style, they would likely play more cohesive and organized football, and still score goals and win matches... and I'm sure the English would be happy with the style of play! Chelsea with Mourinho didn't always play dull... that was mainly just the 06-07 season with their disjointed (Ballack+Sheva) 4-4-2. I think it's much more important for a NT to be ready to get a result in a tight important knockout match than to be cruising through lesser matches with pretty football and losing in a big match (like Argentina :( ).

Yes but I don't think he will.

I think he's an intelligent bloke so I would be amazed if he took it.

Maybe he will hold out until after euro 2008 to see if the Portugal job comes up.
if he wants a job now he is the ideal man for the England job. he can sign a deal to take us through to 2010.
