I almost feel bad for McClown because he really thought he could do a good job and wanted to be the English manager who led us to victory...

He said "Judge me at the end of qualifying" .
When we lost in Russia all of a sudden it was "I want to keep my job even if we dont make it.
Israel bailed us out and he was back to saying "there will be no excuses"...
We lose to croatia and he doesnt even have the honour to step down and resign because he knew he would get a big payoff.

his actions after the Croatia game will haunt him for a long while. IMO if he would have stepped down because he knew he failed, the majority of us may be a little bit more understanding, but he will continue to be disliked for the way he handled the questions after the Croatia game.

Can you imagine the reception he will receive if he takes another mgr job in England?

He wont be getting any offers from any serious teams. i highly doubt any team in the top 2 divisions will touch him with a barge pole.
He will have to go back to being a coach and not a manager.
Graham Taylor was unemployable for years after his time as england boss.

Somehow this England manager situation is affecting me more than I thought. The other night my wife woke me up saying i was singing in my sleep. she wanted to know what i was singing as she could not make out all that i was saying.

here are the words to the song i made up (during the dream!)

You are not worthy
You are not worthy
Steve McClaren you are so inept
You made England
Drop out of Europe
You've got them playing like crap!

I need help! :p

Give it a year or two and he'll get a lower Premier League or higher Championship job. He did a pretty good job at Boro before his last season.

Taylor isn't a great comparison - he was 59 when he left the England job and was never going to be considered a long term option by anyone.

Graham Taylor was unemployable for years after his time as england boss.not quite true. By the start of the next season, in a move that would be synonomous with the foresight and shrewd acumen the club is famous for, he got the job at Wolves.
