Cavenaghi...GOL

I really hope somebody can help me!

I'm (as you can probably tell from my forum name) a big follower of Fernando Cavenaghi and among other things have a nearly complete record of every first team game he has played, including minutes played, bookings and goals etc.

Unfortunately note that i said 'nearly' :(

I need the minutes that Cavenaghi played from three games to complete the record and i'm really struggling to find the information :( I'm hoping someone/anyone perhaps has seen it somewhere or knows where to look and they can pass on the information or ideally the link.

If anybody can help i'm after the minutes he played in these games:

Morelia v River Plate (22/06/02) - This was a friendly in America (San Jose), it ended 1-1 with Ariel Garce scoring for River after Carlos Morales had given Morelia the lead. I know Cavenaghi was replaced by Maxi Lopez but i'm not sure of the minute.

America de Mexico v River Plate (29/06/02) - This was another friendly in America (at the Colissuem Stadium in Los Angeles), River lost 2-1 with Maxi Lopez scoring for River and Reinaldo Navia and Hugo Castillo scoring for America. Cavenaghi played but i'm not sure for how long.

Monterrey v River Plate (18/07/02) - This was in a pre-season tournament called the Copa Telefonica MoviStar held in Monterrey (Mexico). Along with River and Monterrey the other two teams involved were Tigres and Racing Club. River lost this game 1-0 thanks to a Guillermo Franco goal. Again i know Cav played but i don't know for how long. :(

I really hope somebody can help!

When it comes to friendlies or exhibitions, I'm not sure there is a River website that has those statistics. My suggestion would be to call the club and speak with one of the journalists. Maybe they can help you out. Or maybe e-mail Leo Farinella.

Thanks matey.

I don't speak Spanish unfortunately so ringing River is out of the question (plus there is the bill!).

I don't suppose you would know the email addy for Leo Farinella would you?

Again thanks for trying to help anyway.

Well on lighter note, at least you gayinas can look to France and not feel so bad one of your Hijos; Fernando "El Toro" Cavenaghi is doing extremly well his team Bordeux is currently second in the points w/ 71 only 2 behind 5 time consecutive champ Lyon w/ 2 games left . El Toro is 3rd in the tabla de goleo w/ 14 ! If Bordeux have some luck they will break Lyons streak...

Even as a Boca boy I must admit I always liked Cavenaghi and am very happy to see him do well.

The majority of players that leave from River Plate onto a European club succeed Devilman. Ths isn't new.

Hey amargo!, i'm talking about right now. There isn't much in the way of good news for you gayinas , and Cavenaghi seems to be doing well so i felt like i should mention that since Gallardo didn't set France on fire at PSG,.. Not to make comparisons though, i just wanted to add that in case any of you gayinas were in need of some good news since there hasn't been much lately ...

Gallardo didn't set France on fire at PSG because the coach didn't play him. Plain and simple. As for Cavenaghi having a great season with Bordeaux, yes that is great news. He will playing in the Champions League next year which is great news for both Bordeaux and the Argentine National team. But, I think you've forgotten about other River players that have had great seasons with their respective clubs. Lucho Gonzalez won another championship with Porto, "Micho" Demichelis won another championship with Bayern Munich, and "Chori" Dominguez is on the verge of winning the UEFA Cup for a club that probably nobody in Argentina has ever heard of. Oh and Franco Costanzo won the championship and Swiss Cup with FC Basel of Switzerland.;)

he "Chori" has already won/clinched the Russian championship, Rangers(Sco) will prolly take the Uefa cup! btw he came out of Quilmes.. then again this is a Cavenaghi thread so lets not hijack this into a Chori thread.

Agreed, we should move it to the Riverplatenses abroad thread.
