Nah, he'll hold out for the Newcastle job, that'll be coming up soon :D
TalkShite are really pushing Harry Redknapp but as someone else has said he's got too many skeletons in the closet.

This is the FA we're talking about here.
The fact that every paper seems to be running a different story leads me to believe that they're just speculating (in other words making things up). If there was any real news then similar stories would be appearing in quite a few of the rags.

Would he really take it? There's very little opportunity as England manager for a new conservatory or a new car.

Don't know you can be a miserable failure like McSven and end up with a 2nd carribean estate
Capello offered 4 mil per year take or leave it immediatly, if he leaves it same offer to Jose (1), and so on til 8 million is offered to Shearer I suppose, who is O'Neill's pick (2)

Capello says Englands problem is not technical but psychological

And please do not give the FA any "Surely they arent stupid enough to consider that idea" ideas:eek::eek::eek:

Capello is my choice with Jose and Benitez a close second/third.
I do not want anyone who would not get a job at one of the top four. The manager has to reflect the ability of the team.

Speaking of the newspapers.
James has had a right go at Mclaren for not playing the 2nd choice keeper in friendlies enough.
His column in the Observer is usually pretty interesting.

I like James, I wonder if he'll go into management? He's quite intelligent and articulate.

James Column (http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2007/11/25/dont_blame_carson_the_real_gaf.html)
One major problem was our goalkeeping situation. And I'm not talking divots. This isn't about criticising individual performances; it's about the overall system in which our goalkeepers were operating. At the last hurdle we switched goalkeepers and heaped pressure on ourselves. But we needn't have done. Over the past 17 months there were many opportunities to try out a variety of England goalkeepers. So why didn't we?

Capello on England (http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2217113,00.html)
We coaches cannot understand how England, with the players they have, could fail to qualify for the European Championships," said Capello, who has long been proud of the psychological work he does with his players. "How could players of such a high level perform so differently with their national team to the way they perform with their clubs? It is clear that they suffer a mental block. How else can you explain England getting knocked out? Wearing the England shirt clearly weighs heavily on their shoulders, even though they are champions [with their clubs]. In situations like this, the coach has a fundamental role to play, one that is more psychological than technical or tactical."

Why do the FA insist on Capello accepting immediately rather than having negoiations thus forcing him into a corner?

The FA can't do any wrong in getting Mourinho. That is a win win situation. If Mourinho does accept and England fail, then you simply cannot blame the FA for appointing someone like him.

I hardly doubt it. FA needs another muppet that they can easily control. Mourinho and control in the same sentence. No way.
