I think it would be awesome for the Borough Boys to show up at a Mets game. I wanna scream "Gol!! Gol!!!! Gol!!!! Gol!!!!" every time the Mets score a run. That would definitely get the Wilpons attention.

All we are saying, is give us a team!!!!!!

This idea was originally posted by Tommymcb. I think that this is the best idea to date! I think that we need to select a date where the Mets have national TV coverage. This will really show Mr Wilpon and Mr Garber how serious we are.

Getting seats close to 1st or 3rd base would probably be the most ideal situation for getting on TV. If not in the nose bleed section by hanging a flag or something off the side of the railing! If we show up a couple of hundred strong we will get noticed.

Any ideas? Keep'em coming!

I just about this as well. How about a showing outside the MLS offices? 42nd and 5th ave!

You might not be able to get that many tickets for such good seats behind 1st or 3rd. How about the left field bleachers. They are cheap, you can hang flags over the railing, and you will still be noticed.

Just some general points from a person who goes to a decent amount of Mets games.

1. Forget about getting seats near first or third base, probably field level for that matter. It will be damn near impossible to get the amount of seats that we would probably need. Also, I heard that people actually tell you to sit down there:rolleyes:

2. They do NOT allow flags/banners in the left field bleachers. Security will cut them down very quickly as they could provide to be a distraction to the batter.

My suggestions:

1. Go to a game against a shit team in the middle of the week ( easier to get tickets )

My suggested Locations:

1. Ideal : Loge ( maybe back rows to save money ? ) behind home plate. ( I believe ) this is where the SNY booth is, and if we are loud enough, we could be heard on TV.

2. Back up: Upper Reserved: Sections 45 or 47. Should be lots of room there, we could probably get banners going with the space.

Is this the nose bleeds? I was thinking also about the nose bleeds where you could hang something right off the railing!

The thing is - we can not hang off the railing that overlaps the field (if that makes sense) Shea forbids it BUUUUUT!

In the upper deck, there is another railing that seperates the reserves from the walkway - we might be able to hang on that railing - if we can get a section way down the Right field line, by the foul pole and get upper reserved -rows a - h or whatever, we might be able to do that!!! Then, any foul ball, homer, fly ball would see our banner!

I'd just ask you to consider what real effect it would have, and how well it would go over if, say, a couple dozen baseball fanatics showed up for a game at the Emirates or Old Trafford, ready to make a spectacle of themselves in "support" of the owners starting up a baseball team on the side. Regardless of the fact that it's a possibility here, don't you think it's likely to annoy baseball fans more than it's going to sway Wilpon? Hell, I'm a soccer fan, and it would annoy me.

I think that the key to this being effective is to be at a game that will have a low attendance.

Low attendance = less people to be annoyed ( less people in our section ), and a better chance of being heard.

Are we going to go with individual tickets and meet up, or go as a group? ( where we will get recognition by Shea Stadium )

I just want to remind anyone who is willing to come with us to the
games needs to official join the Borough Boys. Tell as many
people about us as you can. We need to get our numbers up.
In unity there is strength!

I would like to do a group rate to both the Mets games and the RB matches! The Co founders have talked and are aware that financially it might lead to a hit, but we feel its the best way to get people interested!

Annoying or not it would cause Wilpon to notice. Which is the point of the exercise in the first place. If it annoys baseball fans, oh well, you cant make everyone happy. If thats the case then make yourself happy.

I was doing some research on travel options.
We can get discounted rates as a group.
I think we should shoot for this during 2008.
1. At least 2 home RBNY Games
2. 1 Revolution Game
3. 1 DC United Game
4. 2 Home Mets Games
5. The MLS Cup final next year.

I found 20$ round trip tickets to Boston on Greyhound.
I think if it's cheap enough we see more games on the road.
I have no vehicle so I can't drive to these games, otherwise
I would.
